Richard Coryell Comic Reviews

51 #1 is a fun and unique book with a lot of heart and some cool conspiracy undertones. The world is unique and the story is a little crazy. But the untold parts that are yet to be seen are the most promising. This is a series that I will be looking forward to seeing how it develops over the next issues with some high hopes. If you want a different and fun first issue you can fall in love with, grab a copy of 51 #1 when you visit the LCS this week.

51 #2 continues the fun of issue one well adding more sustenance within the actual story. The more dramatic story helps the reader feel more for our characters, well the amount of humor reminds us that this is still a really fun story and concept at the end of the day. The artwork matches the vibes of the story nearly perfectly. Two issues in and this series has already got me hooked. If you are looking for a fun and unique book, grab a copy at the shop this week, and enjoy.

A Mischief of Magpies #1 is weird depressing introduction into a strange world that may not even be real. The story explores a young man’s rough life well intertwining it with a strange and hopeful dream world. This is a heavy read that brings a gloomy feeling of hope to the reader. Even though this is a heavy read, it’s still a worthwhile read. Give this issue a shot and grab a copy on Neon Ichiban today.

A Quiet Place: Storm Warning #1 does an amazing job of connecting to the movie franchise and working as a perfect added story from this world. Issue one lays some awesome groundwork for the rest of the series to build upon. If this issue is any indication, this series will be one heck of a ride bringing readers drama and thrills the whole way. This issue is a must get for any horror comic book fans when at the shop this week.

Make sure to get to your local shop or order this issue online before Monday February 2nd to lock your copy in. Trust me, you will want to guarantee that you will get your hands on this one when it drops March 11th.

A Quiet Place: Storm Warning #2 hits the ground running and never lets the reader up for air. The fast-paced action and suspense really keep the reader hooked throughout the issue. The artwork captures exactly what is going on in the story and brings everything to life for the reader. This issue shows that the creative team wants to keep the reader off balance and hit them with everything well also building suspense for the survival of the characters we are coming to care about. If you are a horror fan this is a great pick up at the LCS this week.

A Quiet Place: Storm Warning #3 delivers nonstop tension from the opening page. Its brisk pacing and sustained suspense keep readers fully engaged, while the artwork vividly reinforces the story’s intensity. The creative team effectively keeps both the characters and the audience off balance, building investment in who will survive. For horror fans, this is an easy recommendation to pick up at the LCS this week.

A Quiet Place: Storm Warning #4 is a great penultimate issue that really sets up the final issue of this miniseries to succeed. We get some drama, some violence, some gore, some horror, but most importantly a lot of heart. This series has been paced wonderfully and this issue follows suit. With only one issue left, for those of us who’ve been along for this ride it seems like we are in for a treat. If you haven’t been reading this series, you’ve definitely missed out on a great horror story. Good news, it’s not too late to jump in, grab the first four issues at your LCS or on Neon Ichiban and enjoy!

A Quiet Place: Storm Warning #5 finishes strong with an emotionally packed final issue. This issue much like this series, has expanded the A Quiet Place universe and built new foundations for this franchise going forward. The emotional rollercoaster this series has put us all on pays off with a fitting and satisfying finale. If you have been like me and reading this series from issue one until now, this final issue is everything you wanted and hoped it would be. For those reading this who haven’t been reading the series, make sure to order a copy of the Trade Paperback when it gets listed. This is a worthwhile series to read in its entirety.

Alien vs Captain America #3 is another great installment of this crossover event. The seamless way that the Xenomorphs fit into the Marvel Universe is impressive. If you are a fan of the Alien franchise you will not be disappointed with this series as it treats that universe with a ton of respect. At the same time if you are a fan of Captain America this also stays true to that universe as well.

This story is a really good family tale with aliens. Taki Soma does an excellent job of showing a caring family in a strange time. At the same time, they also weave in what would more than likely be the response of people if an alien showed up in a small town.

Any Given Smile #1 is an awesome first issue for this new chapter in the Smile franchise. This story will have you wanting the next issue as soon as you finish reading this first issue. If you are a horror fan this is a must get first issue and series! Make sure to rush down to your Local Comic Shop and grab a copy or two of this thrilling first issue. While you are there, also make sure to add it to your Pull List so you don’t miss an issue of this series.

Any Given Smile #1 is an awesome first issue for this new chapter in the Smile franchise. This story will have you wanting the next issue as soon as you finish reading this first issue. If you are a horror fan this is a must get first issue and series! Make sure to rush down to your Local Comic Shop before Monday August 17th and order your copy of this thrilling first issue. While you are there, also make sure to add it to your Pull List so you don’t miss an issue of this series. If you don’t preorder this one, I promise that you will regret it on September 23rd.

Archaic #1 is a good introduction into this brand-new world. The story is shrouded in mystery and as the layers are peeled back it unfolds in an interesting way. Melissa F. Olson does a great job of building anticipation and not giving too much away.

Archaic #2 builds on the story that the first issue rolled out. Slowly building and revealing what exactly is going on with this magical island and its unusual inhabitants. Melissa Olson is unraveling this story like peeling an orange. With every layer we find out more and leaves us wanting more.

Archaic #3 continues to slow burn the reveal of the Islands motives and how Tess is part of its grand design. Melissa F. Olson does a great job of keeping the reader intrigued, well at the same time giving us enough information to keep us hooked. The more of the story you read, the more you cant wait to read more.

Archie #1 is a charming and energetic debut that captures everything readers love about Riverdale while giving the series a fresh new start. Ben H. Winters delivers fun, wholesome stories with heart, and the art team brings Archie and his friends to life with classic warmth and modern polish. This is an easy recommendation for longtime fans and a welcoming entry point for new readers. Grab a copy when you are at the shop, have a blast reading this first issue, then make sure to add this series as well as the other Archie titles from Oni Press to your Pull List ASAP.

The way Burnham treats both franchises with the respect they rightfully deserve is incredible. He stays true to the characters and the deep lore we already know about each franchise. This makes the crossover feel less forced and more natural. Not to mention it doesn't favor one over the other, which sets the story up to be a true crossover for both, instead of just one playing in others world.

Archie x The Army of Darkness #2 is a fun thrill ride full of humor and antics. The story is simplistic, but effective and concise with delivering massive amounts of entertainment. Not every series or book needs to be serious, and this issue proves fun and entertainment are just as effective with engaging readers. If you are looking for a fun series, this is the series for you. Pick up this issue at the shop this week and add this title to your Pull List as well.

Archie x The Army of Darkness #3 continues the fun nature of this series well moving the plot forward. Even though the action takes a back seat in this issue it doesn’t lose any of its quirky charm. This has been a very fun series and this issue more than lives up to that. This is a fun book that should be on everyone’s list when they visit the LCS this week.

Archie x The Army of Darkness #5 finishes this crossover event strongly and with a lot of fun. The marriage between these two franchises felt natural and not forced throughout this run. It is said that this is coming to an end as it was a lot of fun and a bright spot in my rotation personally. If you haven’t read this series issue to issue, make sure you get a copy of the trade when it drops.

For a first issue, this book gives you enough to know whats going on but holds enough back to keep you wanting more. Its as strong of a #1 issue as one can have, and I look forward to future issues as this story goes forward. When the only negative that I can think of is that future issues have big shoes to fill, thats a good problem to have.

Overall, Arkham Horror: The Terror at the End of Time #2 is a solid continuation of the story. It doesn't give you too much to digest, well still moving the story forward and adding new wrinkles.

Arkham Horror: The Terror at the End of Time #3 is a great continuation of the story. This series has taken big swings, and with this issue those swings are paying off. Next month can't come soon enough so we can find out what happens next.

Being what appears to be the final issue of this story arc, this issue has a lot of weight on its shoulders. After a 5-month gap between issues 3 and 4 for people to even remember this book is a challenge in its own right. With these external elements working against it, Cullen Bunn tries to park this ship home. He delivers a fine story, that unfortunately feels rushed or forced.

Assorted Crisis Events #3 tells a tale of civility and how easy it is for good people to lose their way. Deniz Camp does an impeccable job of telling the reader both sides of the story. Telling the story from the Hearth-One point of view and then following with what is happening for real on the Hearth-Two side. This gives the reader a perfect perspective on the events that are unfolding, well not confusing the reader either.

Assorted Crisis Events #4 tells a story that we all can relate to, of course with a witty twist. Deniz Camp really thinks outside the box to deliver one of the most relatable stories. Although the story is straightforward, the connection the reader will make to it is what makes this story worthwhile. Sometimes the best way to make a strange tale is to make it real.

Assorted Crisis Events #5 tells a tale that really hits home for a lot of people unfortunately. The moral and message of the story does really shine through and is a big kudos to Deniz Camp. Unfortunately, outside of the message the story is very confusing and at times hard to follow. Confusion is a part of the story, but when the reader cant make heads or tales of whats going on through multiple pages, makes for a rough read.

Assorted Crisis Events #8 gets more serious than what we are more accustomed to in this series. Don't get me wrong, every issue has a message, but usually it's delivered with a little more of a tongue in cheek style. This issue abandons that and puts the message front and center with an overall depressing feeling with said message. With that being said, this is the most relatable of all the messages thus far. This issue is another great installment in this amazing series. Make sure to grab a copy when you visit the shop this week and then prepare to have a good deep thought about what you read after.

Assorted Crisis Events #9 is a great return issue for this amazing and fun anthology series. The odd story and fun artwork help the reader get lost in the more serious message driven narrative. This is why this series is so beloved and revered. The fact that you can put an important message/lesson inside of a fun world helps drive home said message well not being too preachy. If you haven’t given Assorted Crisis Events a chance yet, this is the perfect opportunity to pick up a copy at your LCS this week and find out what you’ve been missing.

Babs is like if The Legend of Vox Machina had a love child with Big Mouth. This book will make you laugh. But also makes you care about Babs and leaves enough mystery to hook you. This is going to be a slam dunk addition to my pull list.

Babs #2 steps up all that we fell in love with in the first issue. The adult humor and misadventures hit the spot on every page of this issue. Garth Ennis takes time to do some world building in this issue and provides us with some great character building along the way.

Babs #3 is a great continuation of the series. We learn more about Babs, while going on an action-filled adventure. The building up of the relationship between Lord Tiberius and the Dudez increases the threat for our hero. Garth Ennis takes us on a journey filled with action, laughs, and a message to boot.

Babs #4 keeps the hits coming. Garth Ennis has created an amazing fantasy adventure world, with an awesome amount of adult humor mixed throughout. Issue four has a little bit of everything, great story build, hilarious moments, adventure, and even a grizzly murder on the high seas. The fact there is an underlying message under the surface of this story speaks volumes for Garth's writing and this book.

Babs #5 delivers the funny, action, and drama that weve come to expect from this series. Garth Ennis seamlessly takes issues of our world and melds them into this story. The gutter humor is on point as it usually, and the action in this issue is top notch as well.

Babs #6 is a fitting end to this fun fantasy epic. Garth Ennis stays true to the groundwork he has laid down throughout this run. Issue 6 gives us some of the biggest laughs, best battles, and even a fitting happy ending (pun intended). The bloody battle mixed in with the vulgar humor are a match made in heaven.

Babs: The Black Road South #1 is a super fun and entertaining read. If this series is half as fun as the original run, we are in for one hell of a fun ride. Go order the trade of the first run as you won't regret it and grab this issue at the LCS then add this to your Pull List as well.

Babs: The Black Road South #2 is another fun issue in this series. The tone and pace of this new story arc makes for a very enjoyable read. The dirty humor in this issue and series is what the reader comes for, and it never disappoints. If you are looking for a fun and entertaining series look no further than Babs. Grab a copy at the LCS and prepare to laugh out loud.

Babs: The Black Road South #3 is an entertaining and fun story that definitely delivers laughs. The issue stays true to the series and brings the fun throughout. The slower pace of the issue takes a little away but doesn’t hurt the series overall. If you are looking for a fun and different story this series is for you.

Babylon Cove #2 is a strong issue that quickly pulls you into its world. It gives readers enough backstory to stay invested while leaving plenty of mystery to keep them wanting more. I am interested to see where the story goes and how everything unfolds from here. This is an issue worth picking up at the comic shop this week, and if you enjoy it as much as I did, be sure to add it to your Pull List so you do not miss the next chapter.

Babylon Cove #3 is another good issue that keeps the series’ mix of humor, horror, and messy character drama working well. Heather’s confrontation with Other Heather gives the story a sharper personal edge, while Karthon’s growing power keeps the supernatural threat moving forward. The issue still feels more like setup than payoff, but the character work, expressive artwork, and strange atmosphere keep it engaging from start to finish. Overall, this is worth picking up for readers who have enjoyed the series so far. It deepens Heather’s flaws, raises the stakes for Babylon Cove, and leaves enough tension to make the next issue feel important.

Babylon Cove #4 is a strong penultimate issue that balances monster-filled chaos with meaningful character work. Heather’s past finally begins to catch up with her in a way that gives the story more emotional weight, while the action and artwork keep the pace exciting. With the finale now in sight, this issue raises the stakes, deepens the central conflict, and leaves the series in a great place heading into its conclusion. For those of us who have been reading this series issue to issue, it looks like we are in for one heck of a finale.

Barbarella #1 is an awesome ride, reintroducing the audience to an iconic hero, at the same time introducing her to a new generation of readers. Blake Northcott does an excellent job of staying true to the character while still updating her for the modern era. The focus is on the story & action, well the sexually charged innuendos and humorous banter we expect from the character is still there front and center.

Barbarella #2 does an awesome job of building on the story from issue 1. Blake Northcott is expanding the world and not only continuing the initial story arc, but also building up whats to come. There is a perfect amount of action mixed with some witty comedy throughout this issue. Northcott is creating a great alternative to the usual hero story.

Be Not Afraid #1 is an interesting take on an Anti-Christ type figure. Jude Ellison S. Doyle does an amazing job of creating this desolate world, with a completely evil figure. The best past is the reveal of Jordys conception and who his father is. It is an unexpected and completely out of left field reveal. The story feels confusing and a little lost at times but giving it the benefit of the doubt it is probably due to building some suspense and mystery.

Be Not Afraid #2 opens the story up a little more and gives the reader a few more pieces of what is going on. Jude Ellison S. Doyle does an excellent job of giving us Coras past and the events that led to the conception of Jordy. At the same time Doyle also shows us that this world isnt black and white, and what is supposed to be good isnt necessarily good. Even angels are capable of evil, and the lines are blurred regarding morals.

Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Halloween Special is an amazing anthology book that not only connects to the series but also feels fresh and exciting. The horror and the story we’ve all fallen in love with are represented in an awesome way, introducing us to some new insights brought to us by some of the best creators in comics today. The next chapter in this series may not be dropping until April, but this special will more than whet your appetite until then. Make sure to head down to your Local Comic Shop and grab a copy today!

This first issue hits the ground running with an intriguing story and some edge of your seat suspense. Patrick Horvath does an excellent job of bringing the reader into the despair of a sister in search of her missing brother. The heartbreaking story of her last eight years puts the reader in her shoes and makes us face her world of despair and the disappointment of not knowing the truth. Meanwhile, the suspense is mostly due to her hope of a resolution, well also waiting for the reveal of our favorite antagonist.

The second issue of this arc catches the reader up on whats been going on with Sam and the town of Woodbrook. Patrick Horvath does an excellent job of bringing the reader up to speed on the goings on in Woodbrook, well at the same time introducing some new wrinkles to the story. Horvaths introduction of WebLynx the internet service, is a great way to expand this world. My only detraction is there are a few parts of this issue that bog down a little with what appears to be filler about the town folk. But, even with that this issue is filled with some really good stuff.

This issue gives the reader a great backstory about Sam and really opens up how truly evil she is. Patrick Horvath does an awesome job of mixing in the bigger backstory of Sam, well moving Monicas investigation forward. The cold-blooded nature of Sam really shines through, and shades even more light on her motivations. At the same time, the suspense of the cat and mouse game with Monica keeps the reader on the edge of their seat.

Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite of Spring #4 takes the story to the next level and never lets the reader down. As this series goes on the stakes get higher and the levels that good people will stoop to get lower. The true horror in this series is the manipulation and desperation of the characters that for all intents and purposes are good people

Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite of Spring #5 gives a major final push going into the finale of the series. The table is set well, and the stakes are raised all the way up headed into the last issue. All that is left is to see how this will play out and finish the story. This series has been fantastic and I'm sure the finale will be a huge payoff. The countdown is on to the finish and I for one couldn't be closer to the edge of my seat.

Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite of Spring #6 ends this arc in a fantastic and awesome way. The evilness that is shown by Samantha solidifies her as one of the greatest horror villains in comic book history. The storybook art makes the horror of the story much more chilling. This has been an awesome series, and this finale delivers and then some. Not only is this my Pick of the Week, but also an early nominee for issue, series, and arc of the year! Get a copy at the shop this week and keep your eyes out for the Trade when it drops as well.

The Big Burn #3 is a fun ride with a really good espionage feel to it. The story has a lot of heart and even though our heroes are majorly flawed, they all win us over and have us root for their success. Joe Henderson does a great job of tapping into the human emotion that sets this story apart, all well not sacrificing the fun and dark humor that makes this book so entertaining. The teaser for a possible sequel at the end is great and a lot of fun.

The first issue of this new Spawn line is very interesting and informative all at once. This story takes place around Spawn #184 and yet ties into whats happening in the current story arc. Thomas Healy does a great job of bringing the reader up to speed where we are in the timeline, while also teasing the familiarity of where we are in the present timeline. This is a tough line to walk, so its a big feather in the cap to pull it off.

This issue does a great job of filling the reader in on the backstory of Nyx and revealing part of her past. Thomas Healy does an amazing job of showing us why Nyx is by herself, while still holding some things back to be revealed. You really start to feel for Nyx and her plight. You also get a good feeling for some of the other characters around her and what they will possibly bring to the table later.

This first issue really does an awesome job of introducing us to the world and our main characters. Benito Cereno does an awesome job of melding the genres of Sci-Fi, Adventure, and Comedy. The concept of a Sci-Fi buddy cop adventure is unique in the market and is a breath of fresh air. The action and humor also hit the spot and make for an amazing perfect blend.

This issue has some really good back story which lets the reader into Bloods world and life a little more. Benito Cereno is crafting a very heartfelt story while at the same time bringing a lot of action and carnage along the way. Knowing that there is more to the story helps build the anticipation for the issues to come.

The third issue is one hell of a cat and mouse chase throughout Metro 1. A lot of carnage, action, and suspense are delivered in this issue. Benito Cereno delivers another compelling issue as the mystery deepens, and the action continues to ramp up. The threat of what the monstrous Prisoner X is capable of is only overshadowed by the mysterious motives that drive his carnage. The layers in this story are awesome and keep us coming back for more.

Issue four takes the story in a completely different direction. We end up on a different planet and with no Blood & Thunder. Benito Cereno takes a gamble on introducing some new concepts and story elements. Which is a good set up for whats to come as the story evolves and continues. However, the complete unfamiliarity with the characters and whats going on is kind of confusing. In the long run it will probably connect and make sense, but here and now it seems out of place.

This issue really drives home the message that this story is based around, while expanding the plot and drawing the reader fully in. Benito Cereno does an excellent job of pushing the story forward while delivering a clear message within the story. The message of a lesser class plays into real life issues of racism and really makes the story relatable. Cereno delivers this message without being didactive which makes it palatable to all readers. The fact that he can walk the line of delivering a direct message while delivering a great story with great action is a testament to how good of a writer he is.

In this issue we get some more interesting storytelling and message building. Benito Cereno is really driving a message home about the privileged and taken advantage of. This message is key and is done very well. Cereno also mixes in some very good action sequences to help entertain the reader and break up some of the tension from the message. With that being said, the story kind of stalls a bit and drags for a lot of this issue. The last few pages with the conversation between the Prisoner and Akeldama really saves this issue and makes it not just another filler issue.

Blood & Thunder #7 continues to deliver some badass action and art. However, these aspects are the sole redeeming qualities of the series, as each issue appears to diverge significantly in direction, making it challenging for readers to follow the overall narrative. A Bounty Hunter on a mission, who takes on full side quests that don't lead to the capture of her target, which would lead to her dream job makes very little sense. This book has the potential to be a top tier comic book, but the story waivers too much to really build it up. At this point if it wasn't for art and action, there would be nothing keeping the scores on this series up.

Blood & Thunder #9 is a great conclusion to a side mission that at times felt like a head scratcher. However, this finale was done very well and with some really cool and meaningful acts that will surely play out later in the series. The artwork has always been the strong suit in this series, but the story really shines in this issue as well. As we will more than likely be on our way to a new planet next issue, it is an exciting time to jump into this series.

Blood & Thunder #10 may be one of the most important issues of the series so far. The revelations that are revealed in this issue are some of the most asked for in the series. This issue feels like a new beginning in a sense and brings so much to the table that it’s like Christmas morning as the reveals are unveiled. This issue is a perfect jumping on point for anyone who has been thinking about giving this series a shot.

Blood & Thunder #11 delivers one hell of a message and is one that we all can learn from. Taking nothing away from the message, which in my opinion deserves to be the star of the show in this case. But unfortunately, outside of the message this issue offers nothing else of importance. With that said I think that the message is so strong and so needed that this should be an issue everyone picks up this week at the shops.

Blood & Thunder #12 is one of the best issues in this entire series and with how solid this series has been that’s saying something. The drama makes you feel for the characters that we have fallen in love with. Well the action is what keeps you engaged throughout the issue. If you haven’t been following this series, grab a copy of this issue and find out why you should be reading this series.

Blood & Thunder #13 brings an inventive and effective way of telling this part of the story. The journey we go on with Akeldama as she has been incarcerated is a nice touch to bridge us to the next part of the story. This inventive style makes the story even more easily digestible and also easier for new readers to jump in.

Blood & Thunder #14 finishes the escape story for Blood and seamlessly sets up the fugitive story we will be getting moving forward in the series. The creative marries the action, drama, message, and humor into a nice shiny gift that hits on every aspect. This is a very entertaining series that seems to be getting better with every issue. If you haven’t given Blood & Thunder a chance yet, this would be a good time to reconsider and grab this issue at the shop this week.

Blood & Thunder #15 takes the fugitive chase to the next level and adds a great deal of drama to the story. Don’t get me wrong, the humor and fun that this series always mixes in are still there in this issue. But where this issue stands out is the drama that it adds to the overall story in the series. Even though this issue has significantly less action than the last few issues it still delivers exactly what it needs to as we move forward in this story. Blood & Thunder is always a solid title and if you haven’t been along for this ride, you should reconsider picking up this title when you’re at the shop this week.

Blood & Thunder #16 is a satisfying payoff issue that finally reunites Akeldama and Thunder while keeping the series’ trademark mix of action, humor, and heart intact. The expanded Fulminator lore gives the story more weight, while the rescue mission keeps the momentum fun and exciting. With strong writing, excellent artwork, and a reunion that feels earned, this is another standout issue for the series. This is an issue that you should definitely pick up at the shop this week, if this series isn’t already on your Pull List.

Blood Train #1 is a brutal and gory horror comic with a lot of substance. Before the horror begins you get to know the group of friends and there is an air of mystery about the true horrors that break out. Adam Glass & Andrew Dabb do an amazing job of bringing this world to life. The narrative progresses swiftly, and just when you believe you have a firm understanding, it shifts direction, leading you through an even more intense experience.

Bug Wars #1 is a great kickoff issue and really immerses you in the world right away. Jason Aaron does an awesome job of building the world that we are in. He also does an awesome job of introducing us to the family and getting to know them, well also keeping some things back to build intrigue. The introduction to some of the bug factions also works out and helps shape where we may be going as this series progresses.

Bug Wars #2 takes us further into this Mad Max inspired world. Jason Aaron has built an intriguing world with some wonderful bloodlust. The apocalyptic insect world really brings you in. But its the story of our young hero Slade that will really keep you engaged. As the world continues to unfold, so does the readers interest to learn more about it.

Bug Wars #3 gives us the hero turn of Slade and shows his uncertainty about his new role. Jason Aaron does a fantastic job of bringing humanity to all of these buggy characters. You really feel for the characters and the troubles and problems that they face. At the same time there is an underlayer of humor and of course some great action beats as well.

Bug Wars #4 continues to deliver one heck of an adventure saga. Jason Aaron finds a way to not only put our main characters in threatening situations that they must overcome, but also still grows said characters endearing them even more to us. This issue has a lot of heart, but still a good deal of action, comedy, and of course bug guts. As the story pushes forward the depth of the characters is awe inspiring.

Bug Wars #5 steps the story up yet again. The more we find out about this crazy world, the more we want even more. Jason Aaron does a fantastic job creating a suspenseful world with amazing twists and turns. Speaking of twists, the swerve at the end of the story is out of left field and catches you completely off guard.

Bug Wars #6 is a fitting conclusion to the first arc of this epic story. Jason Aaron really delivers the action with the War of the Yard. The back-and-forth nature of the battle which at times feels like our hero wont succeed really makes for some great edge of your seat moments. Couple that with a tremendous tease at the end of the issue that sets up the follow up arc perfectly and you have a fantastic finish.

Bug Wars: The Coming of the Wardoom #1 is a strong start to Book Two, bringing readers back to the Yard with bigger threats, sharper stakes, and plenty of momentum. Jason Aaron, Mahmud Asrar, and Matt Wilson quickly remind readers why this world works so well, blending strange fantasy, emotional character drama, and high-energy action into one exciting opening chapter. If this issue is any indication, the coming war is going to push Slade and the Bug Warriors into their most dangerous fight yet. If you did not read the first book in this series grab a copy of the Trade Paperback and catch up, it’s well worth it. Well you’re at the shop, grab this issue and add this new chapter to your Pull List so you don’t miss any of the exciting issues ahead.

Bug Wars: The Coming of the Wardoom #2 builds on the new arc with brutal action, inventive world-building, and escalating danger. Slade’s upgraded Worldstomper powers, Doolie’s memorable debut, and the mysteries surrounding the exterminator and Squirrel King keep the story moving, while the art team makes every strange and violent moment leap off the page. This is a fast, confident issue that leaves the coming war feeling bigger and far more dangerous. If you haven’t jumped on this series yet, what are you waiting for!? Grab a copy of this issue, as well as issue one well you’re at the shop this week and find out what all the hypes about!

However, the most genius move in this whole issue is Kirkman's reveal of who is behind the attack and the reasoning. Abandoning the normal hatred and world domination trope of the villain and replacing it with an "I'm doing this for all of you and your benefit motive is a wonderful choice that makes the next steps endless in their possibilities. Not to mention the gut punch of the individual behind it all.

Capes #4 brings the reader into the next era of the team, well capturing all the emotions and humor that make this series great. The questions that are left unanswered set up intrigue for where the story is going. At the same time adding a huge and new threat to pump up the action is a sure-fire way to grab any readers’ attention. This series has been fantastic and there are no signs of it slowing down. If you haven’t jumped on board with this series already, grab a copy at the shop this week, and add it to your Pull List.

Capes #5 brings the action and never takes its foot off the gas. With action from front to back the reader has no chance to become bored. My only issue with this action-packed issue is that the funny and humorful scenes that we’ve become accustomed to in this series take a back seat this issue. However, the issue still fires on all cylinders and is definitely worthy of you grabbing a copy at the LCS this week.

Capes #6 closes out the big threat of the Chronodile, while establishing the next hurdle the team will have to overcome. The story stays true to the fun and humorful nature of the series, well getting a bit more serious for dramatic effect. This issue was a little slower than other issues in the series, but it is needed for the story to move forward. This series is a lot of fun and still delivers a very good story with depth.

Capes #7 kicks off the new arc and new creative team for the series. The story stays true to its roots, well also expanding into a new direction. Focusing primarily on one hero gives this issue a cool identity, well also making the story easy follow. The background story that plays out in this issue also keeps the reader in the loop for all the happenings in this world. Being that this issue starts a new arc, this is a perfect jumping on point to get into this series. While at the LCS this week, grab a copy of Capes and enjoy.

Capes #8 continues to bring a fun action filled story with a lot of heart to the LCS shelves. The fun nature of the series is balanced well with the action sequences and the more serious underlying story. This allows the reader to always have fun while also being fed a really good plot driven story. This attention to balance makes this one of the most complete books on the shelf. If you haven’t been reading Capes, give this issue a shot and you may just find your new favorite comic.

What makes the issue work so well is how confidently it juggles different tones without losing focus. The book can be violent one moment, ridiculous the next, and surprisingly sincere right after that, yet it all feels like part of the same energetic story. Benito Cereno and Mark Englert continue to prove how much life there is in this corner of the universe, and this issue leaves the reader wanting to see what kind of disaster hits the team next. If you enjoy superhero comics that are action-packed, funny, strange, and full of personality, Capes #9 is absolutely worth picking up. Grab a copy at the shop this week and prepare to be thoroughly entertained.

This issue does an awesome job of continuing to introduce the guardians, well also finding interesting ways for them to find each other. David Pepose does an amazing job of making the reader care for the characters and their new journey in a strange city. The battles they encounter and engage in are very good and go to show they have a lot to learn. This makes for great development, instead of just making it so they can wield their powers perfectly out of the gate.

This issue does a marvelous job of continuing to introduce us to the team, well also moving the story forward. David Pepose really taps into the humanity of the team and the reality of throwing strangers together with all the challenges that it brings. At the same time, he shows the beginning of the character arcs for some of the Planeteers. Pepose as always does amazing at showing the real human drama within the characters he writes.

Issue four brings the reader into the psyche of the Planeteers, which really shows their character flaws and concerns. David Pepose does an awesome job of humanizing the characters and showing us that they have real life issues and problems, along with the weight of this immense responsibility. Letting the reader into the motivation and fears of the Planeteers really makes us feel closer to them. Just when you think that their personal trials are the worst of the worries, the final page reveals a much more fearsome villain is on the horizon.

This issue really highlights the villainous Plunder, while showing our heroes struggling to get it together. David Pepose does an excellent job of building up the threat of the villain in this issue, well milking the emotions for our heroes. The way Pepose makes Captain Pollution seem to be unstoppable; while making our heroes the ultimate underdogs really make the reader feel for them. The emotional tie ins with characters are one of Peposes strongest attributes as a writer, and it really shines in this issue.

This issue really brings the heat and amps up the action and emotions in a big way. David Pepose captures the emotions of the team and Captain Planet as they try and save the world and leaves the reader on the edge of their seat. The action is top notch, as the back-and-forth battle between Captain Planet and Captain Pollution is reminiscent of Rocky vs Drago. But equally as captivating is the Planeteers battle to save Gaia against all odds. Then you hit what happens at the end of the issue, and Pepose catches us all off guard with one of the most emotional twists of the year and possibly the decade.

Corpse Knight #1 introduces this brand-new series a big way and hooks the reader throughout the pages of the first issue. The closeness you feel with Foy and her father makes what happens to them that much more impactful. But it also makes the promise of revenge that much sweeter as well. The art team does an incredible job of bringing this world to life and pulling the reader directly into this world. The fact that they didn’t go completely over the top in the first issue is great and builds intrigue for what’s to come. This will be a series that you don’t want to miss if you like supernatural action stories or just unique stories in general.

Corpse Knight #2 delivers some hauntingly beautiful art and some brutal action sequences. The story also packs quite a bit of heart, and this makes it relatable. There is a bit of confusion in this issue, along with some plot armor. These are minor nuisances but still worth keeping an eye on going forward with the series. This is a solid read and if you’re looking for an action-packed fantasy drama, look no further than Corpse Knight when you are at the shop this week.

Corpse Knight #3 builds on the story and the internal struggle going on inside of the Knight. The drama in this issue is center stage and helps establish the intrigue and suspense this series is driving for. As the drama builds up it is certain that the action and violence will be awaiting us in the next few issues. This series is full of twists and turns and that makes it stand out on the shelves.

Corpse Knight #4 takes the reader on a kickass ride that appears to be ending with our “heroes” meeting their hero and all being well in the world. However, the rug is completely pulled from under us and the series takes a twist that will surely lead to some interesting events going forward. If the twist isn’t enough to hook you for next issue, nothing ever will. If you like adventure, violence, mythological, horror, fantasy, then this is the series for you. Make sure to buy a copy or two or three at the LCS this week and buckle yourself in for one hell of a surprise.

A Luchadora loses her mask in a very important match. This makes her feel like she has let her family legacy down. To repair this, she decides to don the mask of her legendary father. Her Aunt forewarns her that this is a bad idea, and that her father was forever changed by this mask. By ignoring these warnings, she may meet the same fate.

Crowbound #1 is a strong and atmospheric debut that uses personal tragedy to open the door to a much larger world. Jeff Lemire gives Rose an emotional reason to fight back, while Dustin Nguyen’s haunting watercolor art makes the Factory and the Scarecrow Queen feel unforgettable. It is a mysterious, emotional, and visually distinct first issue that leaves plenty of questions while giving readers a clear reason to come back for more.

Cult-de-Sac #1 is a strong debut that turns the familiar frustration of HOA rules into something much darker and more unsettling. Cullen Bunn builds the mystery at a steady pace, while Fico Ossio and Ulises Arreola make Willow Park feel both inviting and dangerous. With an eerie setting, an effective hook, and plenty of unanswered questions, this first issue gives readers a compelling reason to come back for more. This should be a must get at the LCS this week and if you are a horror fan this should be an easy addition to your Pull List.

Cult-de-Sac #2 deepens Willow Park’s mystery with a well-paced mix of family tension and escalating horror. Cullen Bunn builds the suspense effectively, while the art team makes every unsettling moment land. This is a strong follow-up and an easy Pull List pick for horror fans. If you like unsettling, slow burn types of horror this is a must grab at the LCS this week.

Cyclops #3 brings a great deal of emotions to this series, and this should draw readers in. Don’t get me wrong, the action and violent scenes are great, but the drama is what should keep you coming back. Not to mention the great artwork and stellar lettering. If this series wasn’t on your radar before, it should be now.

Cyclops #4 continues to ramp up the action going into the final issue of the series. The hope filled captors in need of saving, and the rage filled hero on the way make for a very exciting push to the end. As the final showdown is all set, the anticipation is palpable and at a fever pitch after this penultimate issue. For those of us who have been enjoying this series, it feels like we are all set up for an epic finale.

Cyclops #5 is a fantastic and emotional ending to this wonderful series. The action and fight scenes are tremendous and keep readers chomping at the bit. But the drama and emotional side of the story is the real MVP in this finale. Those emotions fill the reader with joy at the end of the issue and are truly fulfilling. The only downside of this issue is that the series and story are over. For those of us who have been reading this series as it played out, you will be very happy with this ending. For those who haven’t read this series, make sure when November rolls around you pick up the Trade at your Local Comic Shop.

D’ORC #2 is a really fun and hilarious adventure story. The jokes and humor hit throughout the book; well, the action is also fun and on point. D’orc reigns supreme as the most fun title at the LCS every month and if you haven’t checked it out yet, now is a perfect time to grab an issue and have a laugh or ten.

Who would’ve thought an origin story could be so awkward and funny at the same time. This series always puts a smile on my face and keeps me thoroughly entertained. Not only has this series lived up to the hype, but it also finds ways to raise its own bar. If you are not reading this series, you are missing out on one of the most fun series on the shelves this year.

D’ORC #7 is another wildly entertaining issue that keeps the series’ momentum going strong. Brett Bean delivers a funny, chaotic, and surprisingly heartfelt chapter that gives D’Orc a brief moment of hope before pulling the rug out from under him in perfect fashion. With expressive artwork, vibrant colors, and sharp comedic timing, this issue captures everything that makes D’Orc such a blast to read. If you want a fantasy adventure that is weird, energetic, and consistently fun, this series remains an easy recommendation.

D’ORC #8 delivers another funny, energetic adventure while testing D’Orc’s good-hearted nature against a darker influence. With charming writing, expressive artwork, and vibrant colors, the issue keeps the series fresh, heartfelt, and consistently entertaining. This is the most fun series on the shelves every month and this issue is no different. At this point if you aren’t reading D’Orc, you just don’t like having fun.

ARTWORK:The illustrations in this book are both striking and skillfully rendered. The art team demonstrates considerable proficiency in bringing the narrative to life. Character designs and backgrounds are executed with care and attention to detail, while each panel effectively captures the reader's interest throughout the issue.

Daredevil & Punisher: The Devil’s Trigger #4 moves the story forward well, also delivering an entertaining issue. Even with the story bogging down at times, the action and reveals keep the reader engaged and entertained. This series has been a more than worthwhile read and if you are a fan of either or both of these characters, there is something in this series for you.

The Killing Hole is a slow burn tale that when you get to the end it throws you a curve ball. The character development is amazing and by the end you feel for the main characters that youve grown to know. Steve Niles does an awesome job creating the entire world you get immersed in.

Deadly Tales of the Gunslinger #3 is a fun book that builds on the lore of Gunslinger Spawn. Jimmy Palmiotti does a great job of bringing a different take to the character, while setting the table for what the future Gunslinger does. As a companion book, this is a great piece of work.

Deadly Tales of the Gunslinger #15 is a fast-paced supernatural Western that blends intense action with strong dramatic tension. The standout fight scene delivers plenty of impact, but the issue also takes time to build the story and set up the conflict ahead. By the end, it leaves readers with a clear reason to come back for the next issue. If you have not started Deadly Tales of the Gunslinger yet, this issue is worth picking up at your LCS this week and jump on the bandwagon.

If you are not reading this series, this is the perfect time to start so you don’t miss any of the amazing story that is playing out each issue.

Denver #1 is a strong debut that combines a compelling disaster-shaped future with grounded personal stakes. Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray build a world that feels dangerous and believable, while Pier Brito gives the city a cold, lived-in visual identity. The issue delivers enough action, mystery, and emotional weight to make Jimmy Flynn’s story immediately engaging. It is an easy recommendation for science fiction and action fans looking for a new series with strong worldbuilding and a sharp hook. This should be a must-grab at the shop this week and should be an easy add to your Pull List going forward.

Denver #2 builds successfully on the debut by raising the stakes and giving Max Flynn’s struggle greater emotional weight. Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray deliver a tense story of loyalty, guilt, and revenge, while Pier Brito and Bill Tortolini keep the issue visually gripping and easy to follow. With strong character work, escalating danger, and a compelling cliffhanger, this remains an easy recommendation for action and science-fiction fans. If the ramp up of issue two is any indication this series should be on top of everyone’s list when they hit the comic shop this week.

Destro #3 was an awesome read and as one question gets answered another presents itself. Destro is becoming one of the best parts of an already robust Energon Universe. This book gets high recommendations, and the best is still to come.

Destro #4 does an awesome job of continuing the origin story of one of the best villains from the world of G.I Joe. Dan Watters takes some chances and gambles on running a story that has so many layers. His gamble, however, pays off in a big way and leaves you wanting more. The last page surprise appearance really sets the table for where this story will go next.

Destro #5 continues one of the best origin stories in the Energon Universe. This book has been a must read since issue #1. Make sure before the next chapter in the Energon Saga kicks off, you read this series!

Devil on my Shoulder #3 is the final stop on the way to the series finale, and it definitely doesn’t disappoint. If you have not been reading this series grab a copy of this issue and also the first two and prepare yourself for the thrill ride.

Devil on My Shoulder #4 is the perfect ending to what has been the horror comic book series of the year. With an epic final showdown, revelations about the story that are finally revealed, and a strong tease for a possible continuation, this final issue checks every box. My only detraction is that we didn’t get more issues of this series, but hopefully that is rectified with Volume Two. This is my Pick of the Week and should be on the top of every horror comic fans list to pick up at the shops this week. If you have not been reading this series, keep your eye out for when the Trade Paperback is released and grab a copy.

Dinner Date #1 is a sharp, stylish debut that blends romantic comedy, urban horror, and clever misdirection with ease. Joanne Starer’s engaging characters and well-timed vampire reveal pair perfectly with Khary Randolph and Emilio Lopez’s expressive, neon-soaked artwork. Funny, surprising, and visually distinctive, this first issue leaves a strong impression and plenty of reasons to return for the next date. Grab a copy at the shop this week and sink your teeth into this fun and awesome story. I promise once you’re bitten, you’ll definitely come back for more.

Dog Tag #1 brings an important historical story from World War II to life in its pages. The care that is put into keeping the historical story true to life, well expanding upon it with the fictional happenings, makes this story very cool. The promise of exploring even more post D-Day combat and stories as the series goes makes for some great potential for this series as it moves forward. If you like stories that are tied to history well also expanding into their own lore, this is the series for you.

Dog Tag #2 continues to bring World War II to life, while showing us a different story type for the war. Focusing more on the drama and emotions of war, well still showing action and the consequences of said actions. This series operates in the gray areas of war and doesn’t shy away from the stark realities of war either. If you like war stories, you will love this series. Head to your LCS and grab a copy today.

Dog Tag #3 shows the grim and unsexy parts of war that may not be the most heroic or over the top but are real and unflinching. The way this issue ends on a sad and down moment shows that this series isn’t your typical war story. The realism of this story and its artwork is what completely draws me in and makes me want more even if it’s harder to face. This series should be on everyone’s Pull List. If you haven’t given this book a shot yet, grab a copy and check it out.

Dog Tag #4 is another strong issue that proves this series is not interested in easy heroics or simple answers. The creative team delivers a tense, morally complicated war story that uses a small town’s liberation to reveal something much darker underneath. It is grim, thoughtful, and sharply executed, making this one of the more compelling entries in the series so far. This book should absolutely be on your Pull List, and if it’s not pick up a copy of this issue to see what you’ve been missing.

Check Out My Review of THE PUNISHER #1Final Thoughts:Doom 2099: Rage of Doom #1 is a tremendous one-shot with a lot to offer comic fans across the board. The story is captivating, while the artwork captures the essence of the story nearly perfectly. The only real qualm I have is that this is a one and done and not an on-going series. This should be a slam dunk pick up at the shops this week and with some cool covers it should also be a must grab for collectors as well.

Dungeons of Doom #1 effectively introduces readers to its setting, providing backstory while retaining an air of mystery about where the plot will go in future issues. The sense of intrigue makes it worthwhile to pick up the first installment at your LCS this week. Still, it's important to note that not much of major significance actually occurs in this debut issue.

The first issue of this series is very good and sets the table for whats to come. Brian Buccellato creates this world that is equal parts family drama and Highlander. This creates a very familiar, yet brand new story that brings the reader on a ride. The introduction to the family and beginning to understand their motives of each one of them paints an intriguing picture. This story can go in so many directions, which really makes for a promising series.

Cruel Kingdom #1 is a great first book in this new line of anthologies from EC. Mixing the world of fantasy and fairy tales with the monkey paw style twists weve become accustomed to is a winning formula. You should definitely pick up a copy at your LCS this week.

This book from story one through story four holds the reader's interest. The concept of stories that all end with a "wicked twist is also super cool. Each story has art that is unique to that story, helping to separate each story. Overall, I really enjoyed this book, and will be making sure issue #2 is on my pull list.

Cruel Universe #2 packs a real punch. Four different tales tied together by great monkey paw style twists. This is becoming one of my absolute favorite books and we are only on issue #2. The classic feel of the storytelling, mixed with the nostalgic art style makes Cruel Universe a must for your Pull Lists at your LCS!

Cullen Bunn is tuned into the social conscious in this story. He takes us on a journey where the trappings of being better really get skewed. This tale is the perfect ending note on what is a very inciteful issue.

Overall, this book was thoroughly enjoyable. The flow from story to story was impeccable. If you enjoy horror anthology comics this will be a book that will slot in perfectly on your pull list.

Shiver SuspenStories #1 is a good first issue that delivers what it promises. The issue gets a bonus as there is also a reprint of a story called Two of a Kind from Vault of Horror #26 which was originally published in 1952 at the end of the issue. Overall, this is another horror anthology from Oni Press/EC Comics that delivers entertainment value, and you should give it a read.

Escape from New York: Escape from Chicago #1 delivers a gripping return for Snake Plissken, pairing brutal action with a compelling personal stake. Strong writing and atmospheric artwork make this an exciting start to the series. This should be on the top of the list to pick up at the shop for any fan of the franchise. Well nonfans of the franchise will still enjoy it and should also consider grabbing this first issue.

Overall, I did enjoy this issue and I will be looking forward to reading the upcoming issues to see where the story goes. If you are like me and a fan of Westerns, you'll enjoy this book. If like me you enjoy time traveling content, you'll enjoy this book.

A major plus for this issue is the epilogue that ends the book. This teases a new story/series to follow and really hypes up the reader for it. To come off a successful run and be able to switch gears and excite readers for what's to come is a real feather in the cap to Ward. I for one will be waiting for this next installment.

Event Horizon: Inferno #1 is an awesome first issue of a series that is sure to make every horror comic fan rejoice. Christian Ward keeps the story moving with urgency, while Rob Carey and Xenon Honchar make every page feel strange, oppressive, and dangerous. With the pieces now almost fully in place, this issue delivers a strong setup for the finale and proves once again why this series is one of the most exciting horror comics on the shelves.

Event Horizon: Inferno #5 delivers a brutal, suspenseful, and satisfying finale. Christian Ward brings the major character arcs to a fitting close, while Rob Carey and Xenon Honchar fill the issue with unforgettable body horror and infernal atmosphere. It is a strong conclusion that honors the franchise’s terrifying legacy. For those of us who have been following this series issue to issue, we get a satisfying ending that is rewarding of our time spent with this series. However, if you haven’t been reading this series, you need to make sure you order a copy of the Trade Paperback as soon as it goes up for order. Don’t make the mistake of missing out on this series for a second time.

Everything Dead & Dying #5 brings the series to an end in an impeccable way. There is violence, horror, and reveals throughout this final issue of the series. But what truly makes this issue incredible, and a fitting ending, is the drama and emotions from Jack that play out. Being on this tortured journey with him for this whole series has made the reader close to him. So, the fact that you can feel his pain and sorrow going into the close makes this final issue much more impactful. This is a must have at the LCS this week, and if you haven't been reading this series make sure to order your TPB as soon as they are up for order. This is a series that you really don't want to miss.

The artistic style might not suit all tastes, but it offers a whimsical twist on horror that makes it memorable. Readers looking for lively and visually captivating art will probably appreciate what this book has to offer.

Exorcism Island #5 wraps up and ends the series on the highest of highs. The drama, violence, action, and suspense fire on all cylinders. The moral questions this issue raises really sets it apart from any other book out there today. If you are looking for a different kind of horror story with a unique art style this is the series for you. Head over to Comixology and check out this series today!

This first issue lays down the groundwork for whats to come in this series. You are introduced to the 13 families, the 13 killers, and our group of unsuspecting towns people. The basic outline of the game is also laid out, so you understand it, but it leaves some things open for surprises later. James Tynion IV does a fantastic job of laying down this groundwork and setting the expectations for where this series is going to go.

This second issue picks up where the first left off. We get to see the aftermath of the first killer being taken out from the perspective of the elite. At the same time the suspense builds as the other killers close in on the town, and how the townspeople react as they become aware something strange is afoot. Michael Walsh picks up the story flawlessly and really delivers some great action and even better storytelling.

Issue three does an excellent job of bringing the reader closer to the minds of the characters that are featured. Pornsak Pichetshote does a great job of humanizing characters and letting the reader get an insight into their emotions.Pichetshote includes significant elements of violence and horror in the issue, featuring a scene that suggests unsettling events may have occurred. The only flaw in this book is its slightly uneven pacing, which is noticeable but doesn't significantly affect the story's quality.

Issue four once again delivers one hell of an action-packed thrill ride. Che Grayson steps in and really hits the reader with some suspense, mystery, and of course carnage. The connection between the Lady and the Fox lends itself to something bigger. At the same time showing some behind the scenes stuff with the cleaner really brings yet another aspect to the game. The violence is also turned up and you get the sense that this town is on the brink of collapse.

This issue takes an unexpectedly positive turn. A love affair between killers was not what anyone wouldve expected, but here we are. Jordie Bellaire does a wonderful job of bringing this pyro-infused relationship to life. Bellaire also highlights the effects and survival of the townspeople in this crazy situation and really brings a sense of hopelessness to the survivors. The horror and confrontation in this issue are some of the best in this series so far.

Exquisite Corpses #6 continues to have readers on the edge of their seats as the story progresses and gets crazier. The violence and horror are always on point, but where this issue stands out is from the hart shown in the non-killer characters. The ability of a series centered around a killing gamewhere viewers are encouraged to support the antagoniststo also evoke empathy for potential victims is indicative of the story's remarkable quality. If you are not reading Exquisite Corpses currently, you should head down to the LCS and pick up this issue and give this series a shot.

Exquisite Corpses #9 marks a significant step toward the conclusion of the first season of this series. By highlighting what is at stake and introducing new, meaningful developments to the narrative, this issue serves as an essential component in the lead-up to forthcoming events. For readers who have not yet read Exquisite Corpses, this is an opportune moment to grab Volume 1 in trade paperback and familiarize yourself with the story before the highly anticipated conclusion unfolds.

Exquisite Corpses #10 really builds up a great deal of suspense and brings the series one step closer to the season one finale. This issue brings the action and suspense that we’ve become accustomed to in this series, well at the same time throwing a monkey wrench into what we thought was going to happen. This is consistently one of the best series on the shelves of the LCS and that streak continues with this issue.

Exquisite Corpses #11 brings the series to a new climax and there are still two issues left! The carnage, violence, and drama are turned all the way up and are ready to explode. The table is set perfectly for the finish. If you have been reading Exquisite Corpses this issue is a real treat and will have you pumped for the final issues.

Exquisite Corpses #12 delivers the definition of a penultimate issue and makes the reader want the final issue now. All of the separate stories that have played out over the series have finally tied into each other and come together. The violent scenes deliver; well, the surprise twists throw the reader off of the scent of what truly happened. Couple these things with some amazing artwork and you have a winning combination.

The team over at Tiny Onion took a big swing with this series and is justly reaping the rewards with the success this series has brought. If you weren’t reading this series, make sure to get caught up with trades before the second season. However, for those of us who have been enjoying this series all along, celebrate this awesome ending and get ready for Rascal Randy in July!

Exquisite Corpses: Fox Mask Killer #1 is a compelling, action-packed origin story that gives Naomi Yatsurugi meaningful depth without diminishing her lethal mystique. Che Grayson’s emotionally grounded script and the striking work of Adam Gorham, Jordie Bellaire, and Becca Carey make this a strong opening issue that should satisfy longtime fans while giving new readers a reason to follow the Fox Mask Killer’s story. This is one of my favorite comics of the week and should be on the top of everyone’s list when they visit the shop this week. With so many awesome covers to choose from it makes it hard to just grab one copy. Make sure to add this series to your Pull List and update your LCS of which covers you want to collect.

Exquisite Corpses: Rascal Randy #1 is an awesome kickoff for the first spinoff tale from the world of Exquisite Corpses. The creative team does an amazing job of making a spinoff, but making it unique as well. The story doesn’t reveal too much, but just enough to bring you back for more. I’m a huge fan of Exquisite Corpses and am beyond stoked that we are getting more of this universe. Even better, this first issue delivers on its promise instead of feeling like a quick cash-in.

Exquisite Corpses: Rascal Randy #2 is a strong follow-up that deepens the mythology behind Rascal Randy while keeping the present-day mystery moving in an unsettling direction. Tyler Boss adds emotional weight to the character’s origin, while Dylan Burnett and Jordie Bellaire make each timeline feel distinct, eerie, and full of atmosphere. This issue balances backstory, suspense, and horror extremely well, making it another must-read issue for fans of Exquisite Corpses. Make sure to grab a copy from your Local Comic Shop and keep this series on your Pull List!

Exquisite Corpses: Rascal Randy #3 deepens the mystery, sharpens the horror, and proves there is a disturbing method behind Randy’s madness. Tyler Boss, Dylan Burnett, Jordie Bellaire, and Becca Carey deliver another suspenseful, atmospheric must read. Pick up a copy at your Local Comic Shop and add the series to your pull list before you miss any more of this horror classic!

The art in the first 2 issues is awesome and captures the TMNT world perfectly. The style of the Battle Nexus is super cool and gives a Roman Gladiators feel. The character designs are very cool and bring not just the turtles, but every other character to life. The designs of the characters from the other dimensions sets them apart from our dimensions characters well still keeping them recognizable. The colors make the art pop out of the panel and draw the readers eyes to each and every page.

This story has a familiar feel to it but hits you with intrigued and a few curve balls. Kelly Sue DeConnick does a great job of capturing teenage angst, as well as also making us instantly care about our main characters. This issue sets the table for the series, but you realize that DeConnick hasnt even stepped on the gas yet, which is very exciting.

FML #2 stepped up the mystery and at the same time revealed just a little more to the story. Kelly Sue DeConnick is weaving a wonderful story that is unfolding before our eyes. The slow burn of the story and reveals leaves you on the edge of your seat and wanting more.

This issue continues to weave the dual story that has been going strong since issue one. On one side you have Riley and his friends, who are in a band and going through normal teenage angst. Of course there is the whole Riley has become a monster. Then you have the other story, featuring Rileys mom Patty and her sisterhood. They are looking for their friend Kat and all the weird occult things they are into. It is seamless and a pure accomplishment.

FML #4 really builds out the story and brings us closer to the family and friends. At the same time the fourth wall breaks are pure comedic gold. Kelly Sue DeConnick does an excellent job of mixing humor in with the heart felt story. But also, she doesnt allow you to forget this book still has a mystery thriller element behind it as well.

FML #5 slows the story down a bit but reveals some important keys to where the story is heading. Kelly Sue DeConnick does an excellent job of bringing the reader even closer to the characters. As the story nears an end, more mysteries are being revealed, and connections are starting to make sense.

FML #6 ramps the story back up and really gets the reader on the edge of their seat. Kelly Sue DeConnick does an amazing job of building up the tension in this issue, well at the same time putting in some light humor to break that tension a bit. DeConnick has really brought the reader along for one heck of a ride and doesnt appear to be laying off. As the story draws closer to the end, the swerves and jokes keep on coming.

FML #7 serves as an exemplary penultimate issue, raising anticipation for the concluding installment. The narrative stakes are at their peak, emphasizing the importance of a satisfying resolution to the story. I look forward to the final issue and remain optimistic about its conclusion. This issue is highly recommended for readers seeking a compelling experience as the series reaches its climax.

FML #8 is a terrific and fitting end to this awesome series. The story shines and makes you feel every emotion throughout this issue. The punk rock family horror story we get is accessible and is something everyone in your family can enjoy and take something from. This series has been a real treat to read and makes me want more of this style of story. If you haven’t been following this series, make sure you get the Trade Paperback when it drops in September.

Fort Psycho #1 is a strong and exciting debut that mixes military action, conspiracy, and mystery into a fast moving first issue. Matt Kindt builds an intriguing world with plenty of moral gray area, while Brian Hurtt and Bill Crabtree give the book a bold, energetic look that makes both the action and the island setting stand out. With a sharp hook and a final reveal that adds even more questions, this issue does exactly what a first issue should: it grabs attention and makes the next installment feel essential. Make sure to grab a copy at the LCS this week and add this one to your Pull List as I’m sure you won’t want to miss an issue of this series.

Fort Psycho #2 deepens the series’ mystery with simmering tension, tangled loyalties, and Jason’s relentless pursuit of revenge. Matt Kindt keeps the suspense sharp, while Brian Hurtt and Bill Crabtree make the island’s beauty feel increasingly uneasy. This compelling second issue raises the stakes and leaves plenty of reasons to return for the next issue.

Freddie the Fix is an awesome read. Garth Ennis brings it on every page of this story. Giving some mystery, a little horror & gore, and some of that classic Ennis humor. This story has a little something for everyone. The only down part to this story is that its currently only a one shot.

The second issue of Free Planet really delves more into the world of Lutheria. Showing us more about how the world runs, and the politics behind it. Aubrey Sitterson does a fantastic job of giving the reader a detailed journey into this world. Well at the same time getting us familiar with our main characters and what makes them tick.

Free Planet #3 continues to grow this awesome and intriguing world that has been created for us. An equally smart and entertaining story that tells what it is like to start a new and free planet. As the story goes on and we meet more characters and become closer to the main characters we are growing to love, this story takes it's real shape. This is a must read and a must add to your Pull List at the LCS.

G.I Joe #13 kicks off the Dreadnok War in a big way. The action is hot and heavy right from the jump and really pulls the reader in. If this kickoff is any indication where the war is going, we are going to be eating good. This is my Pick of the Week and should be a must have when you hit the LCS this week!

The creative team also gives the book a strong visual identity. Robert Gill’s expressive character work and Bryan Valenza’s energetic colors make the contrast between the street-level world of Remy’s chosen family and the polished danger of the casino scenes stand out. That blend of character drama, crime-story tension, and classic X-Men flavor makes this debut feel both familiar and fresh. For longtime Gambit fans, this issue offers the kind of character-focused pre-X-Men story that is easy to invest in, and for newer readers, it provides a clear, entertaining entry point into what makes him such a compelling figure in the Marvel Universe.

Gambit: Wanted #2 is a strong continuation that deepens Remy’s emotional stakes while keeping the action sharp and entertaining. Chris Claremont shows why Remy’s loyalty and heart matter just as much as his charm, while Bullseye and Suzerain give the issue a dangerous edge. With expressive artwork from Robert Gill and energetic colors by Bryan Valenza, this issue delivers a solid mix of character drama, street-level tension, and classic Marvel action. If you are a fan of the X-Men, this is definitely a book you should pick up at the LCS this week.

Gambit: Wanted #3 delivers an exciting, emotionally charged clash between Remy and Elodie that tests their bond as much as their fighting skills. Chris Claremont keeps the story moving with high stakes, while Robert Gill and Bryan Valenza bring the action to life with dynamic visuals and vivid color. It is a strong mid-way issue that leaves the series well positioned for its upcoming conclusion.

Geiger #6 is a unique story. Geoff Johns takes us on a side mission with Barney and it pays off. The fact that most of this story is without dialogue, and still draws you in, shows how good of a tale it is.

Geoff Johns continues this post-apocalyptic tale and once again weaves in the unexpected. What makes Gieger work is the amount of side missions that the group goes on. These side missions arent just filler, we learn more about Geiger and the entire team through them. The main story and mission are always front and center, but its these fun side events that sell the book for me.

Geiger #8 continues the journey of our rag tag group of protagonists, well setting the table for whats to come. This issue and series have really hit its stride and has become a truly epic tale. Issue 8 is for all intents and purposes a story build/connector issue, but it still gives you some top tier stories, well moving the plot and suspense for next issue and beyond. The fact that Geoff Johns can take a setup story and turn it into gold speaks volumes to why hes one of the best writers in the industry.

Geiger #9 was a climatic second part to this mini Grovers Corner arc. The battle with the New King and his Knights is some of the best action in comics in recent memory. Geoff Johns has built a world where the line between hero and villain is very blurred. The teases at the end involving other characters from the UnNamed Universe are very exciting.

Geiger #10 is a very good bridge issue in this series. Taking us from the aftermath of Grovers Corner to whats next on the road. As we get a few solutions, we also get a few more unforeseen problems. Add in the return of Junkyard Joe and the introduction of a new threat, this issue delivers it all.

This is the first issue of the new arc in this story, and it delivers. Finally in Lewistown and receiving help almost feels like a new hope will arise. But, between Tariqs own skepticism, the uncertainty of who Ash Arden truly is, and the volatility of Junkyard Joe we are in for one hell of a ride, and Geoff Johns is the perfect conductor for said ride.

The story really picks up in this issue, adding to the great stakes. Geoff Johns does an amazing job of building the intrigue, well at the same time bring the danger and action. This issue encapsulates a ton of emotion and handles all of it nearly perfectly.

The escalation of the story over the past couple of issues has been amazing. Geoff Johns does an amazing job of building suspense, all while tugging at the readers emotions. With so many moving parts in this story, it would be easy to get lost, but to his credit this book and series stay easy to follow.

This issue hits a fever pitch of drama and suspense. As the time gets closer for the nuke to go off, and at the same time the battle between Tariq and Ash intensifies, it really creates an amazing atmosphere for this issue. Geoff Johns masterfully set all of this up, and just when the powder keg was at the peak of volatility an amazing swerve takes place. This is a master class in writing.

This issue focuses more on the story and what is going on in the world of Tariq Geiger. Geoff Johns does a fantastic job of really encapsulating the complexity of this true anti-hero. The layers that are pulled back and the trauma that has shaped this lost character and his band of misfits brings a great deal of intrigue to this book. But nothing prepares you for the cliffhanger finish of this issue, which leaves the reader wondering, where do we go from here?

This issue takes a step back and starts to build up where we are going next in the series. Geoff Johns does a great job of setting the table for what should be the next arc in this saga. The pacing is a little slow and not much really happens outside of the building blocks of the next chapter. Dont get me wrong, its great to take a step back to set things up, but this issue was a little slow for my overall liking.

Geiger #18 delivers an exciting and graphic ending of Coldwater Prison. The story arc is rising up just in time for the return of Ash Arden. Geiger continues to be one of the best comics in the shop with the most consistent art of any comic book. If you are looking for a new series to get into, pick up a copy this week at the LCS and enjoy.

The collaboration between the artists is a key factor in the issue's success. Their ability to work seamlessly together results in consistently high-quality visuals that not only complement the story but also keep the audience engaged. This level of artistry demonstrates why the team is regarded as one of the best in comics today, showcasing their talent and dedication to producing work that truly stands out.

Geiger #21 what this issue lacks in action, it more than makes up for in great storytelling. The back story coupled with the slow reveals and teases keep the reader engaged for the entire issue. This issue is warming the reader up for the bigger crossover that is on its way. With the crossover heating up, this is the perfect time to give this series a chance if you haven’t already. This should make your Pull List for sure.

Geiger #22 is an issue full of heart and really makes the reader feel for the children and our heroes. It is the definition of a feel-good issue and does that very well. It’s also a good connecting issue with an amazing cliffhanger ending. This series is always a joy and is definitely one that should be on your Pull List.

Geiger #23 is a fitting conclusion to this crossover event that brings a lot of heart and emotion to the story. Because of the lack of action in this issue the story moves a little slower, however the impact of this issue will be felt going forward. The end of this issue sets up the next issue and what will happen next perfectly and promises to bring back more action. This series is fantastic and should be highly considered for your Pull List if it’s not already on there.

Geiger #24 brings the series back in a big way. Revealing a new threat while continuing the journey with a group we’ve fallen in love with gives this issue some real bite. The story is so good it almost makes you forget about the inconsistencies with the releases of the issues in this series. Geiger still stands out as the flagship series from Ghost Machine and that is not a bad thing at all. If you haven’t been reading Geiger, this is a perfect jump on point. So, grab a copy when you are at the shop this week and get lost in the world of the Glowing Man.

Geiger #25 delivers a powerful payoff to the battle with Griffin, combining explosive action, emotional consequences, and outstanding visuals. The issue also pushes the larger Unnamed Universe forward with intriguing new possibilities. As both a conclusion and a launch point for what comes next, this is another excellent issue in Ghost Machine’s flagship series. This is a must grab issue at the shop this week and a worthwhile add to your Pull List as you won’t want to miss where this story is going.

This first issue does an incredible job of introducing us to our main characters, well at the same time keeping a mysterious aura about them. Ludo Lullabi has crafted an interesting story, that feels familiar well being completely its own thing. The hellscape of a world welcomes that grimy dystopian feel, where danger is around every corner. Mix that with a volatile main character whose anger gets the best of him, and its a recipe for sur success.

This issue hits the ground running with some great backstory and really moves the story forward. Ludo Lullabi really does an incredible job of creating the world we find ourselves in. The complexities that Lullabi put into the characters really make the reader feel a familiarity with them. This world is definitely not black and white but rather mired in different layers of gray. The revelation at the end of the issue really sets the table for whats to come.

This issue takes a side journey where a rival of Loloi and their battle takes center stage over the main story. Ludo Lullabi does a great job of building the side characters and making them seem as important as our main hero. The action-packed chase really brings a great deal of entertainment and excitement to the issue, with the fight between the soldier and Ash being a tremendous scene.

Ghost Pepper #4 continues to be a fun and entertaining story. However, this comes at the cost of moving the story forward. The pacing is affected greatly by the continuation of a side quest that really doesn't feel like it's moving the story forward. It will be interesting to see what the next issue brings to the series, and if we finally push the story forward. If you are looking for a fun book, this has that base covered. But if you were looking for this story to move forward, sadly that is lacking.

Ghost Pepper #7 gets the story back on track and builds up to what is to come in this new arc. Ash making a play and letting people know that he is the true savior really gets the ball rolling and will make next issue much more interesting. This series has been a sleeper hit that not enough people are talking about. If you haven't given Ghost Pepper a shot yet, grab this issue at the shop this week and enjoy.

Ghost Pepper #8 brings the heat and action in a big way. The drama of Ash choosing a simple life, only to have it ripped away is an incredible touch to this story. This issue really helps build anticipation for what’s to come next in the series, and the eventual final showdown. This series has been impressive and deserves a spot on every comic book fan’s Pull List.

Ghost Pepper #9 continues the full throttle approach to the inevitable showdown between Ash and Bataar. The excitement in this story is at a peak and keeps climbing somehow. With the showdown almost upon us the reader may think how much higher can it go? My answer is pretty damn high, as just when you think you’ve gotten to the Apex, there is more. This series has been awesome, and hopefully you have been a long for this ride.

Ghost Pepper #10 ramps up the action to 11, while building towards the showdown, we’ve all been waiting for. The excitement and anticipation are at an all-time high and when the climax finally hits readers will be rewarded immensely. This is a series that should already be on your Pull List, but if you haven’t been keeping up with it, you should keep your eyes out for the trade when it drops.

Ghost Pepper #11 really builds up the story and with the new revelations brings this series to a fever pitch. As this story plays out and the stakes get higher, the anticipation for where it’s going grows immensely. This series is firing on all cylinders and as it continues it only gets better. If you have not been reading this series, you are truly missing out.

Ghost Pepper #12 is confusing and leaves the reader scratching their head on what they just read. This deep into the run and to feel this lost is absurd, but here we are. The artwork is the only thing that makes this issue worthwhile and from having a lower grade in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong, I have enjoyed this series up to this point, and I’m pretty sure that it will come back. However, this issue wasn’t it, and I hope the teases for next issue deliver. The sky isn’t falling and there is no reason to yank this from your Pull List. But we will need to pay attention to the next few issues to make sure this doesn’t become a trend.

Ghostbox #1 is a slow burn with a lot of great world building. Mike Carey does an excellent job of showing you who our main characters are and what makes them tick. The issue does bog down a little in the middle but recovers with a great cliffhanger ending that sets the tone for the series to come.

Ghostbox #2 continues the awesome story that we were introduced to in issue one. Mike Carey continues to build this world while amping up the threats and sense of urgency. Even though the threats of the villainous Estival are imposing, the biggest conflict is that of the sisters just trying to care for one another despite the situation they find themselves in. This issue and story so far have really brought a multi-level approach to this tale.

GHOSTBOX #3 does an amazing job of moving the story forward. Mike Carey is doing an awesome job of building suspense and intrigue. As this issue moves on and the table is set for where the story is going, you find yourself wanting more. The roller coaster of a story is really picking up steam.

This issue really ties the story together. As we near the end of the arc, the plot thickens, and the stakes become higher. Mike Carey does an awesome job of misdirecting the reader, while building up numerous angles at once. As this arc enters its endgame, us readers are still in a mist of endless possibilities.

This final issue of the series brings the story to a good close. Mike Carey ties the story together and really helps push this chapter to a close. The open-ended finish also lends itself for possibly more out of this universe. The only real problem with this finale was that there seemed to be too many open ends, without there being a clean-cut promise of another arc for this title.

Godzilla #1 is a great start to a brand-new era of this amazing franchise. Tim Seely does an amazing job of shaping this new world and mythology. Taking the original story, we all know and love, but then infusing it with some deeper and unique elements that make the story feel fresh. The groundwork that was laid down in this issue will make the reader excited for whats to come in this new line.

Godzilla #2 picks up where issue one left off and continues to reveal more about this new Kai-Sei Era. Benito Cereno does an excellent job of rolling out the new rules to this world. Revealing elements as we go along, while still holding some secrets back, which builds up an excitement for whats to come. The somewhat mysterious element of the story so far leaves a world of possibilities. Cereno is doing a fantastic job of rolling out this Kai-Sei Era.

Godzilla #3 not only focuses on the battle against the Kaiju but also shows the differences in opinions in how humanity should handle these monsters. Tim Seeley does an excellent job of showing different philosophies and not judging which one is better than the other, allowing the reader to choose for themselves. The action is solid, but the human drama and build in tension is the real winner of the story in this issue. Seeley is painting a beautiful world with the story and an entertaining one with the action.

Godzilla #4 really moves the story forward well keeping some motivations mysterious, which really builds up the suspense. As the story ramps up, the mythos keeps growing, which is setting the Kai-Sei Era apart from every other iteration of the Godzilla franchise. This series has delivered and then some and should be on everyone's Pull List.

Godzilla #6 delivers in every aspect, and it is exactly how you should end an arc, well setting up for what's to come. The action, drama, and suspense keep the reader engaged throughout the book. Then you get to the end and see the tease of what's to come, and it excites and energizes you for the next chapter in the Kai-Sei Era. This is my Pick of the Week and should be the first thing you grab at the LCS this week!

But the biggest suspense builder is this new dynamic with Jacen and the spirit of Godzilla for lack of better term. Is Jacen possessed by Godzilla, or is he able to project and become Godzilla, or is it something entirely different. Seeley does an awesome job of showing us the connection but not revealing what we are truly seeing. This builds up interest and suspense for the next issue and makes this series a must add to everyone's Pull List.

Godzilla #8 really builds on this new arc in the series. The internal conflict between Jace and Godzilla is matched by the motives of May. As Seeley sets up for these worlds to collide, the reader will reap the rewards of the story. The art is top tier and keeps you turning the pages. If you haven’t picked up an issue of this series yet, this is the week to give it a shot and grab a copy at the shop.

Godzilla #9 has a ton of action but is also packed with a lot of heart. This series has been great at entertaining with amazing fight scenes, well also delivering some well-placed drama, and this issue continues that trend. The Kai-Sei Era has been a different and fresh take on the Godzilla mythos and has really delivered in my opinion. If you are looking for something that is familiar well also feeling fresh and new, this series is definitely for you. Grab a copy at the Comic Shop this week and give this story a chance.

Godzilla #10 may have brought less action than previous issues, but what it lacked there it made up for in the storytelling department. The emotional toll this arc has taken on the team, and Jacen is evident and really brings the reader into the family our team has become. The setting up for the showdown with May in the next issue has built up some tremendous anticipation. Couple all of that with some awesome artwork and you have a complete issue that will please readers of the genre. If you have been reading this series the payoff that is coming is promising to be huge.

Godzilla #11 was set up to be an epic clash, but switched gears and hit us with some truths and emotions. The truths that were revealed will fuel where this arc and beyond go in this series. This unconventional Godzilla story continues to find new and inventive ways to give us a truly original story in this classic franchise. If you have missed out on the Kai-Sei Era so far, it’s time for you to rethink your decisions and get on board. For those of us who have been along for the ride, we’re eating good right now.

Godzilla #12 is a great penultimate issue of a chapter and a perfect tease for where the series will go. The emotional drama is front and center giving this issue a ton of heart. The reveals and revelations are sure to send a ripple effect through the entire universe. This series keeps getting better as well as the universe that surrounds it. As we get more and more pieces to this Kai-Sei Universe, the originality of this concept stands out even more. This is a series that you should definitely be reading and getting caught up on if you haven’t been reading this already.

Godzilla #13 delivers a powerful return to the Kai-Sei Universe, balancing Jacen’s emotional conflict with striking kaiju action and polished artwork. Its surprising final reveals raise the stakes and build strong momentum for what comes next, making this another memorable issue in one of Godzilla’s most original ongoing stories. This is a perfect jump on point for anyone wanting to give this series a shot. Grab a copy at your LCS and make sure to add this to your Pull Lists ASAP.

Godzilla: Escape the Deadzone #1 is a different kind of Kaiju story, told from a completely different perspective than we usually get in this genre. Ethan Parker & Griffen Sheridan do an amazing job of building this dystopian world with some very interesting and unique characters. Being that this story is so unique and uncharted they really have a lot of opportunities to be as creative as possible, and they definitely take advantage of that.

Godzilla: Escape the Deadzone #2 jumps right into the story and shows us more in the world of the Wanderer. Ethan Parker & Griffen Sheridan do a wonderful job of setting this story up as something completely different from what weve seen in the Godzilla franchise. Tying in a doomsday like cult that worships Godzilla opens endless possibilities where the story can go. Couple that with some good action in the form of a Kaiju v. Mutant battle and you have an entertaining read.

Godzilla: Escape the Deadzone #3 takes this original concept inside of the world of Godzilla and continues to add more value and story. This is not your usual Godzilla story, and that's its strongest attribute. If you like Godzilla and original stories this is the book for you. Head to the LCS and check out an issue this week.

Godzilla: Escape the Deadzone #4 really shows off how fun this series can be. A fun premise throughout the book, that brings the reader back to reality at the end. This is definitely a book for a niche audience, but if that audience is you this is definitely a worthwhile pick up at the LCS.

Godzilla: Escape the Deadzone #5 is a fun and revealing story that really sets the table for what's coming in the arc. Between the unique feel of the art and the crazy reveals that lead to some cool cliffhangers, this issue really has a little something for everyone. If you haven't been following the Kai-Sei Era of Godzilla, this is a fun issue and story to start with.

Godzilla: Escape the Deadzone #6 is an action filled finale of this initial story arc. The excitement of the action and the great art really keep the reader entertained. However, the story falls a little flat for much of the issue. But then it sticks the landing, giving a very good ending with a great tease of what’s to come. The Kai-Sei Era has really kicked off with a bang and makes me hopeful for what’s to come.

Godzilla Heist #1 is a fresh take on a classic monster. Van Jensen has come up with a completely original story involving one of the greatest monsters in pop culture. Just when you think you know where the story is going in this first issue, we get a complete swerve and a reveal of a popular Godzilla foe. All of that and this is just issue number one.

Godzilla: HTBD #4 continues this awesome epic in a big way. This book has some great reveals and even better art. Alternative history stories always hit the spot for me. Then you add in Kaiju, and you had me at hello. Run to your LCS pick up this issue and the 3 before it and enjoy the ride through history.

Godzilla HTBD #5 is a great next chapter in this awesome series. If you are a Kaiju fan, Godzilla fan, history fan, or just a fan of great stories this is a book and series for you.

Godzilla: Infinity Roar #1 is an awesome kickoff to an amazing crossover series. The table is set with a very aggressive and calculated story that brings the heat right out of the gate. Couple that with some amazing artwork that nails the same vibe of the story, and you have the makings of something epic.

Godzilla: Skate or Die! #3 is a fun read. Its a book that doesnt appear to take itself too seriously. There is a good amount of story built throughout and it seems like there is a definitive direction for the arc.

Godzilla’s Monsterpiece Theatre: Romeo & Juliet and Godzilla #1 is a fun and entertaining take on the classic story. The writing stays true to the original, well adding some fun moments with everyone’s favorite Kaiju. The artwork is an amazing period piece that transports the reader back in time. If you like Shakespeare, Godzilla, fun stories, or all of the above, pick up a copy when you visit the LCS this week!

Groupies #2 does a great job of building off issue 1. The story itself is good and feels fresh and new. Helen Mullane does an awesome job building up suspense and slowly building the world which makes the story mysterious. The only downside is at times the story makes you feel lost, but that is also promising because it is definitely building to something.

Groupies #3 is a trippy ride into an uncertain world. Helen Mullane has built a world that makes you uneasy, but eager to search for more. The slow burn setup, with the even slower paced reveals, lead to some great suspense. This issue and story have the reader waiting for the other shoe to drop. When it finally does, the payoff should be glorious.

The story in this issue is rather lackluster. It follows the drug infused delusions of what up to this point would be considered a second-string character. At the end of the issue, we know more about Morgaine, however she still feels like a secondary character. You need story telling issues to move the arc forward, and usually they have less substance. However, this issue doesnt really feel like it moves the story forward. Instead, it feels more like a horny fever dream.

Todd McFarlane has really created a great world with GunSlinger Spawn. This story has a little for everyone. The action is good, the fugitive storyline has a familiarity to it, the criminal family tie in hits, and of course monstrous bad guys are a Spawn staple.

GunSlinger Spawn #38 does a good job of bridging the gap in the story thus far. MacFarlane gives us some big teases on whats to come not just for GunSlinger Spawn, but the entire Spawn Universe. The final panels of this issue are what we have been looking forward to, but also bring a healthy amount of uncertainty as well.

Gunslinger Spawn #39 is a fun read with some great action beats and a cool twist cliffhanger ending. If you've been reading this series, you know it's one of the best in the franchise currently. We are coming into a great jump on time in this series.

At the end of issue 39 it appeared that Gunslinger may have met his maker. However, not only does Todd McFarlane swerve us on the demise. He also uses the opportunity to bring in Godsend, to up the ante. He weaves in some great action and story to really push us forward.

This issue wears many hats and has a lot of setups for a much bigger event, and even with all this added weight, it still delivers. Todd MacFarlane does a masterful job of continuing the GunSlinger journey well moving it towards the greater Spawn Universe crossover event. Walking that line can be hard, yet it is done seamlessly here. So huge kudos for that.

Devil's Luck: A Hailstone Story #2 is a good follow up second issue. It moves the story forward well teasing the direction the story will go in the future. The cliffhanger that the issue ends on puts an exclamation point on the suspense that built up all issue long. Going forward this series will most definitely pick up the pace and hit the readers with some interesting stories. Head over to Comixology today and read this issue. If you haven't read issue one, don't worry, it's on Comixology as well.

Devil’s Luck: A Hailstone Story #3 is a good bridge to move the story forward. Despite the lack of anything major happening, the issue fills in the gaps of where we will be going in the series. The gallows humor in the book brings some uncomfortable, but entertaining moments to the story. This is what truly makes this issue a worthwhile read. Head over to Comixology today and check this issue out and catch up on the previous issues if you haven’t already read them.

Devil’s Luck: A Hailstone Story #4 is a solid addition to this series that really ups the ante on the murderous nature of Doc Beacon. After this issue there is no doubt that Doc Beacon has embraced the dark side and took a turn towards murder. The dark humor is still in the story between the artwork and uncomfortable jokes, making this issue as enjoyable as the ones before. Head over to Comixology today and read this issue and the other issues if you haven’t already.

Devil’s Luck: A Hailstone Story #5 is a fitting ending to a wild original story. The twists and turns this issue and entire series have taken readers on really pays off. Where most stories have trouble coming up with a suitable ending, they really stick the landing on this one and do it with a great deal of shock and awe. Head over to Comixology and read this issue and series if you haven’t already ASAP!

This first issue is a lot of fun and really sets the tone for what will inevitably be a super entertaining series. Amanda Conner & Jimmy Palmiotti really capture the essence of both main characters well having a ton of fun in the process. In a world of writers who try and make characters overly serious, this fun take is a breath of fresh air. The ridiculous premise really opens up the possibilities of where this story will go. The sexual based humor is funny and never feels cringy or in bad taste.

The vibrant, warm color palette further enriches the narrative, making the comic even more enjoyable. Altogether, these artistic decisions shape a distinct mood that enhances both the humor and action throughout the issue.

Harley Quinn x Elvira #5 is another hilarious and fun issue that this series has become known for. Well possibly being one of the most fun issues of the series, it ends with an impactful and shock ending. This being the penultimate issue really benefits the story going into the final issue. Although even with the cliffhanger ending, I still feel like there is something missing coming into the finale. Overall, this is still one of the most fun series on the shelves and will surely entertain you.

Harley Quinn x Elvira #6 is a fun finish to an extremely fun and humorous series. The adult humor and jokes never missed in the entire series. Coupled with some insanely fun artwork that matched the vibes of the story perfectly, and you have an insanely entertaining series on your hands. The final issue wasn’t as strong as some of the other issues in the series, but it was still fun and good. This was one of the most entertaining series of the year so far, and if you weren’t already reading it, make sure to keep your eyes out for the Trade when it hits the shops.

Hector Plasm: Hunt the Bigfoot #1 is a super fun and entertaining book. The cartoon art style matches the tone of the story perfectly, to really give the reader a truly fun joyride. The absurd story wouldn't work under any other circumstances, but in this case, it works really well. If you are looking for a fun read that will thoroughly entertain you, this is the book for you. Well at the LCS this week, consider picking up a copy of this issue.

Hello Darkness #1 is an awesome first issue, filled with great stories. Anthology books can be complicated to put together because of all the variables. However, BOOM! hit a homerun with Hello Darkness. The book is laid out perfectly. It takes you on a ride and leaves you wanting more. The mixture of the short "grindhouse type stories that start and wrap up right now, with the 2 main stories that will keep you coming back for issues to come, is spectacular. The art is amazing and different in every story. The writing explores all types of horror and never feels repetitive. I can't wait for issue 2 and beyond!

Hello Darkness #2 built on the great start that issue one set up. Each story was different and gave you a different horror style. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite books to read every month.

This book has become one of my must reads every month. Every month finding ways to keep us readers engaged. I almost forgot to mention my favorite part of each issue, Robert Hacks 1 panel stories. The absolute best pallet cleanser in the genre today. This book should be a no brainer on your Pull List.

Hello Darkness has become a favorite book of mine. Issue 4 was a little less of what weve come to expect from this series. Its not a bad issue by any stretch but compared to other issues its not quite the same level. No matter what this is still a series and issue you should check out at the LCS.

Hello Darkness #5 takes some chances, and for the most part they pay off. It is still one of the books that I look forward to every month. It's always a fun and good read. Definitely worth picking up at your LCS.

As our two survivors are hunkered down, a group of soldiers discovers them. However, the soldiers start dropping dead from what appears to be radiation poisoning, until there is one left. The lone surviving soldier talks to our protagonist about what has happened during the war. As unbelievable as that sounds, what happens next will take you to the height of emotion.

An FBI Agent is on the hunt for what appears to be a serial killer/kidnapper. What makes this case personal is his wife is one of the missing women. As the agency closes in on a possible lead, he cant let his professional side win out and chases down the lead. However, he gets himself into something no one could ever imagine.

This is the shocking finale of the ongoing The War story. Nikki and David must deal with the death of their baby daughter. The couple who was already fracturing are now completely shattered. As David drifts more and more into his journaling and delusions. Nikki is ready to make her stand.

Hornsby & Halo #0 follows up flawlessly from where the story left off in the last issue. Building some mystery and suspense for where the story will go as the series moves forward. The addition of The Unbelievables angle doesn’t hurt the issue but doesn’t bring much to the table either. Numbering this issue as a #0 is a bit confusing as it is really just a continuation from last issue, but once again this doesn’t hurt the story at least. This continues to be a fun and interesting family comic and is definitely one you should check out at the LCS.

Hornsby & Halo #15 is a strong return to the main series that keeps Zach and Rose’s story moving while successfully introducing The Deadtones. The issue balances mystery, humor, action, and character work in a way that makes the world feel bigger without losing focus. With engaging writing, expressive artwork, and several intriguing story hooks, this continues to be a fun and imaginative family comic that is easy to recommend.

I Saw Santa #2 is a fantastic horror filled journey which mixes in the tone of the Christmas season. The graphic nature of the kills mixed with the psychological torture make this book a true horror powerhouse. If you are a horror fan these books need to be in your collection ASAP. Get to the LCS and grab a copy or 2 today!

Ice Cream Man #42 is a fun one-shot horror trip. W. Maxwell Princeputs together a good tale that is entertaining but also delivers some poignant messages. The fact that the story involves real life issues that affect us all, well at the same time delivering an entertaining horror story, deserves a hat off to the writer. Another great aspect of the story is the writer breaking the fourth wall for the entirety of the book. It adds extra insights, at the same time bringing some levity to the story.

This issue is jam packed with super talented writers who bring something different to each page. Ice Cream Mans creator and full-time writer W. Maxwell Prince has multiple stories in this issue, which really ties in the lore of the series. Besides the writers mentioned in the previous section, we also get stories from Deniz Camp, Zoe Thorogood, Jeff Lemire, Frank Barbiere, and Good Old Neon. Some tales outshine others, but all of them capture a different voice and tone. There is literally something for everybody in this story.

Ice Cream Man #45 brings this series back in a big way and is sure to make more fans of this series. The homage to Alfred Hitchcock was a nice touch in this issue, but the way the team makes it their own is what truly stands out. This has consistently been one of my favorite anthology series, and this return issue only solidifies that. Since it is an anthology series any issue is a great jumping on point. With that said, if you are looking for a good, short, thriller story this issue is for you.

If Destruction Be Our Lot #1 is a tremendous kickoff for this brand-new series. The story is relatable and fun, well also carrying realism and delivering an awesome message. The story is sure to bring any reader in; well, the artwork is sure to keep you focused on each and every panel. If you are looking for an original and fun book this is the book and series for you. This is my Pick of the Week and should definitely be on the top of your list when visiting your LCS this week. Well, you are there you should also add this to your Pull List, so you are locked in for every issue.

If Destruction Be Our Lot #2 is a nicely paced story that shows the reader the darker side of this world. As we go through the different levels of this prison, it really feels like we are going through the different levels of Dante’s Hell. Not only does the story deliver on this level, but it also delivers with a great cliffhanger that is sure to hook every reader. This series is two issues in and it’s already making its way to one of my favorite books in the shop. Grab a copy at the shop this week and find out what I’m talking about.

If Destruction Be Our Lot #3 continues the revelation that humans exist in this world and this reveal sets the table for what’s to come. The more we learn about this world, the more we realize that it mirrors our own reality. This series is really deep and thought provoking, well still being easy to follow and enjoyable. It isn’t too late to get on board with this series. Pick up this issue and the first two and buckle in for one heck of a ride.

If Destruction Be Our Lot #4 is a dark, emotional chapter that pushes Abe to his lowest point while also giving the series a stronger sense of mystery and momentum. The issue handles addiction, isolation, and disbelief with real weight, making Abe’s search for the truth feel personal and urgent. With strong writing, bleak but effective artwork, and an ending that opens the door to something bigger, this continues to be a smart, thought provoking series that is absolutely worth following.

The Incredible Hulk #30 is a fitting and perfect end to an era, well also being the perfect launch spot for what's to come. This issue will go down as one of those must have comics on everyone's list. Great writing with awesome art really sets this book apart from all other books on the shelf. This is my Pick of the Week, and if you want to be on the frontlines of the Infernal beginnings this is a must grab at the LCS this week.

The Infernal Hulk #1 is a brutal, violent, and borderline horror start to a new age and era. The art really encapsulates this perfectly and is absolutely stunning. The story has started off more as a recap than moving the story too forward. This isn't a completely bad thing, as that means there is room to grow. But for anyone who was reading the latest run of The Incredible Hulk, this feels more like a "previously on then a start to a new era

ARTWORK:The artwork in this issue matches the tone of the story perfectly. The art team as a whole really shows the human side of Bruce & Betty well slipping in some flashes of their previous incarnations. The colors set the mood and indicate to the reader where you are at in the story and how the characters are feeling. Well, the lettering makes following the story simple and shares with the reader the reality of the situation our characters find themselves in.

The Infernal Hulk #4 takes us to a very trippy and strange realm that not only tells us where the Hulk is but also makes the readers imagination run wild. The story may be strange, but it fits into this series perfectly. As crazy as the story is, the art is that much crazier and more amazing. This series has really heated up the last couple of issues and looks to not be slowing down or losing a step.

The Infernal Hulk #5 does a great job of bridging the story together thus far. The threat of the Hulk is in full swing and even the bravest heroes must pause at fighting him. The Drama and horror do the most work in this issue and deliver on both genres. This story is steady and consistent which makes for a good read overall.

The Infernal Hulk #6 delivers the action and nails the Hellbuster armor design. The action and fighting take center stage in this issue and this really drives the entertainment through the roof. The lack of a significant dramatic storyline does give this issue a detraction. However, the action is so good that it really does diminish the detraction and gives the reader an entertaining joy ride of an issue that should be picked up at the shop this week.

The Infernal Hulk #7 brings another element and angle to this story, which in turn brings even more intrigue. The Hulk searching out allies and the pitch to said allies not only makes sense but is also plausible if the trigger is pulled makes this that much more impactful. As we near the endgame of this arc, the anticipation is really building making this series move up on my list of must-reads. This is a series that has really built up and become an undeniable force on the shelves.

The Infernal Hulk #8 is really adding the layers to this story that creates even more intrigue. The more this series goes and the more that is revealed, the more interesting the story becomes. The big risks that are being taken in this series are really starting to pay off, which is setting up for a great final push. If you were sleeping on this series, it may be time to catch up. Head to the LCS and grab some issues or get them all on Neon Ichiban today!

The Infernal Hulk #9 is a near perfect penultimate issue and sets up the finale in a big way! This story has been wild and built up very well over these first nine issues. Now that we are entering the finale, the stage is set for something huge to happen. The one thing this issue shows us is that Johnson is willing to pull all of the stops in this series and that makes the anticipation for the final issue that much better. I for one cannot wait for the final issue of this part of the story and to see what the setup for the next arc will be. The anticipation for the last issue is going to be a tough wait after how awesome this issue was.

The Infernal Hulk #10 is a powerful close to the opening act of the Infernal Hulk War. Phillip Kennedy Johnson delivers big story movement, smart character choices, and enough unresolved tension to make the next chapter feel essential. Adam Gorham and Matthew Wilson match that energy with brutal, eerie, and epic visuals that keep the horror tone alive on every page. This issue gives the arc a satisfying sense of payoff while making the road ahead feel even more exciting. If you were not following along as this series dropped, make sure to keep your eyes open for when the Trade hits the shelves. Also, keep your eyes open for the FOC for March to Hulk War: Infernal Hulk vs Wolverine #1 as you won’t want to miss that one either!

Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #7 picks up the story where the last issue left off seamlessly. Starting this new arc by getting the details of what happened between the arcs out of the way will only help the pace of the story going forward. Even though this is a bridge issue, it still brings a lot of fun, well setting up where we will be going in this new arc. If you were looking for a good jump on issue for this series, this is one that you should pick up at the LCS this week.

Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #8 is an action-packed violence fest that will have every reader in a bloodlust. Even though the advancement of the story takes a slight back seat, the action more than makes up for it. This being only the second issue of the new arc, and it sets a tone and pace for what this arc will bring to readers. If action is your thing, this issue has you covered and then some.

Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #9 brings some great set up for where the series is going with this arc. Finishing off the threats of the first arc, well introducing us to the possible threats that lie ahead. If you are hesitant about reading this series, this is a good spot to dip your toes in and give it a shot. Pick up a copy at the LCS and see what the hype is all about.

Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #10 builds up the tension until it’s at a fever pitch and then releases the violence. The fight scene is good and violent, but it’s the anticipation and build up that makes this issue good. Add some comic relief and some awesome artwork and you have a fun and action-packed issue to enjoy. If this series isn’t on your Pull List, you should really reconsider and give this issue a shot before adding it.

Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #11 continues this extremely intense battle between Conquest and Battle Beast. Continuing the energy of this battle is no easy feat but seems to be done flawlessly in this issue. If this issue doesn’t get your blood flowing, you need to check your pulse immediately. If action, violence, and brutality are what you are seeking, grab a copy of this issue at the shop this week and enjoy.

Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #12 is a brutal, fast-moving, and wildly entertaining issue that knows exactly what it wants to deliver. The story is simple, but the intensity of the fight, the savage artwork, and the nonstop escalation make it a thrilling read from start to finish. If you want blood-soaked action and two unstoppable warriors pushing each other past the limit, this issue more than earns your attention. This series may not be for the faint of heart, but if that isn’t you grab a copy at the LCS this week and enjoy the carnage!

Is Ted OK? #5 delivers a strange but revealing penultimate issue, that definitely gives the reader a great deal of excitement for the finale. The questions that are answered in this issue only raise more questions which creates a great deal of anticipation for the final issue. The impact of the final pages will floor readers well at the same time having them fully vested in the finale. This has been a real surprise and gem of a series. If you haven’t been reading this one you are truly missing out.

Is Ted OK? #6 sticks the landing and brings an amazing ending to this unique and awesome series. The uniqueness of the story brings readers in, but the drama and emotions are what really keep readers hooked. The ending is fitting and conclusive but does leave the door open to return to this world as well. I for one would welcome another chapter of this amazing story. If you are like me and have been reading this series issue by issue, you will be very happy with this conclusion to the story. However, if you sat this one out, I’ve got great options for you, get to your local shop and hope they have all 6 issues, wait for the Trade Paperback and enjoy, or head over to Neon Ichiban and get every issue NOW! No matter what you ultimately choose, one thing is for sure you need to read this series in its entirety.

This horror thriller opens strongly with a very interesting and quite mysterious premise. Ryan Parrott really captures the suspense with his slow burn introduction to this world. Revealing enough for the reader to know what is going on, but holding a lot back to keep the reader hooked. The graphic nature of the story puts the reader in the middle of what is going on and brings a level of horror to the story. Well, the mystery and intrigue create a thrilling atmosphere. Parrott does a magnificent job of blurring those lines and perfectly molding them together.

It Killed Everyone But Me #2 moves the story forward and reveals some of the mystery that was built up in issue one. The narrative draws you in, leaving you eager to find out what happens next. The artwork vividly illustrates both the unsettling aspects of the story and the eerie environment that surrounds the characters. If you are looking for a horror thriller book, this is the issue and series for you.

Speaking about the actual horror in this book, it is and has been top tier. Even with the internal struggles going on, Parrott never lets us forget that this is also a pure horror story. The violence, the gore, and the oh my did I just read and see that moments are incredible. Personally, I have enjoyed Ryan Parrott's other horror/thriller writings, but this one is my favorite yet. Parrott is definitely the most underrated writer in this genre, but everyone should stop sleeping on him after this series.

Kill All Immortals II #3 really ups the ante in a powder keg that is already set to explode. Waiting for issue five will be the longest wait of my life as I can’t wait to see how this one ends. If you have not been reading this series, you have been missing out on something incredible.

Kill All Immortals II #5 is a phenomenal ending to this second volume and arc of this series. Every part of the story hits, at the same time the artwork is next level. The end of this volume gives the reader a very satisfying closure for this chapter, while also setting up and giving excitement for what’s to come in this next volume. This is my Pick of the Week, and I think everyone should rush out and grab a copy at the shop this week. If for whatever reason you haven’t been reading this series. Make sure to keep your eyes out for when the Trade is coming out, so you can enjoy this story in all its glory.

Killadelphia #35 is not your average horror book. It has layers and tells a very human tale. Rodney Barnes really makes you care for the characters in this book. You feel like they are people who would live in your neighborhood. He even brings humanity to Blacula and makes the reader understand the complex truth of his story.

Killer Influences #1 is an awesome first issue that will get anyone excited to read what’s next. The original concept of this crime story lends itself to lead to some interesting twists and turns. Couple the great story with equally as good artwork and you have a winning formula for sure.

Killer Influences #2 is a sharp and compelling second issue that builds on the series’ strong debut by pushing Kylie and Melvin’s twisted arrangement into more dangerous territory. The time jump gives the story a stronger sense of consequence, showing how fame has changed Kylie while Melvin’s resentment continues to grow. With tense writing, expressive artwork, and a final stretch that makes it clear things are starting to fall apart, this issue keeps the momentum going and makes the next issue feel impossible to miss.

Killroy is Here #1 is a good kickoff for this brand-new series. The mystery and intrigue are sure to hook readers and have them coming back for more. The slow burn style of revealing the story will definitely make a lot of readers intrigued but may disappoint some readers that have less patients. Either way, Killroy is Here is setting up to be a really good story and series, and you should consider grabbing a copy well at the shop this week.

King Spawn is a great story with a great premise. Having a world where Al Simmons has lost his powers, but still fights the good fight is a ballsy move but pays off tremendously. Todd McFarlane has always thought outside of the box, but hes out done himself with this story in the best way possible.

King Spawn #55 is a near perfect kick off to a new arc in the Spawn Universe. The backstory is revealed and enough of what is happening is held back to create intrigue. Even though the world feels hopeless, I have high hopes for where this series will go. Spawn #376 can’t come quick enough to get even more of this story. This is a perfect jump on issue, as well as an important one that you won’t want to miss. Grab a copy at the LCS and add King Spawn & Spawn to your Pull List ASAP, so you don’t get left out of this awesome event!

Overall, the art gives Kingdom of Earth #1 a memorable look and helps the issue stand apart. The combination of grim landscapes, expressive characters, and imaginative monster designs makes the world feel fully realized even when the writing is still holding back information. Lee’s visuals give readers enough to grab onto and make the setting feel dangerous, weird, and exciting. If the series continues to expand on these designs and environments, the artwork could easily become one of the book’s strongest selling points.

Kingdom of Earth #2 is a strong follow-up that expands the world while keeping the story focused on danger, mystery, and shifting power. The writing deepens the conflict between Orpheus and the Grand Leader, while Virago’s mission gives the issue a more personal sense of urgency. The artwork strengthens the book with striking monster designs, tense action, and a dark atmosphere that fits the story well. Overall, this issue builds momentum and makes the next issue feel worth following. If you didn’t pick up issue one think about grabbing both issues when you are at the shop this week.

Just then Carl wakes up in his modest apartment and is late for work. His boss at the financial firm Laney chastises him for being late. As he goes along with his mundane day, he can't shake the dream he had of being a superhero. At one point he cut his finger on a broken coffee pot, which makes him bandage it. Alone finally again in his apartment he passes out on his couch. At that point the Knight wakes up in his therapist's office, but the cut is still on his finger.

Knight City #2 continues to bring a unique take to a superhero comic book, well also pushing boundaries with the story and artwork. The character development is top tier and emerges the reader in this crazy and unique world. The way this issue ends is sure to bring readers back for the next issue. If you are looking for a different superhero story, look no further than Knight City when you are at the shop this week.

Knight City #3 brings a bittersweet end to this unique and amazing story. The story hits you fast and hard and keeps you guessing what is real and how all of this is happening. The story and artwork are completely complimentary to each other and really bring this weird world to life. The only thing that sucks about this issue is that the story is over. Hopefully, we will return to this world in the future and get more insane stories. This is a series that if you have been following it, you are getting a fitting end that is satisfying. If you haven’t been reading this series, make sure to check for the TPB because you will want to grab that when it drops.

Land of Never #1 is a nice start to a very promising series. The initial premise will grab your attention, but the teased tie in will make you sit up in your seat. The artwork is fantastic and leaves nothing to the imagination as it captures the story completely. This is a must grab at the shop this week. Give this first issue a shot and consider adding it to your Pull List, or at the very least order the second issue to see where it goes.

Land of Never #2 does an excellent job of building on the initial story from issue one. Showing us, what Wendy and Rufus are going through in this messed up version of “Neverland”, while building up tension and suspense with the fathers’ search for them at the same time makes the pacing of this story impeccable. This story draws readers in with intrigue and keeps them hooked with the promise of even more reveals. As this world opens up more and the story unfolds, I think that readers will continue to come away with a satisfying horror adventure. Make sure to pick up a copy of this issue along with issue one at your LCS and buckle in for a wildly mysterious ride.

Land of Never #3 is a tense and disturbing chapter that pushes Peter’s twisted version of Neverland into even darker territory. Steve Orlando deepens the threat around Peter while giving Wendy a stronger emotional role, and Miguel Mora’s artwork makes the horror feel brutal, bleak, and unforgettable. With the fathers getting closer to the truth and the children facing even greater danger, this issue keeps the mystery moving and leaves plenty of reason to come back for what happens next.

Land of Never #4 delivers a tense, revealing chapter that deepens Peter’s tragic history while pushing the children closer to rebellion. Steve Orlando’s layered writing and the art team’s bleak, atmospheric visuals keep the mystery compelling and set the stage for a dangerous confrontation. This series continues to surprise me and as it unfolds gets deeper and gloomier. If you’ve been sleeping on this series, it’s time to wake up and take a trip to Never Neverland.

Lazarus Order #1 is an awesome debut that mixes historical horror, supernatural mystery, and bold artwork into a first issue that immediately stands out. Sloane M. Siegel sets up an intriguing world without revealing too much, while Juan Doe’s striking visuals give the plague-ridden setting a unique and unsettling energy. With memorable characters, grotesque monster designs, and a larger threat waiting in the shadows, this issue does exactly what a first chapter should: it pulls you in and leaves you wanting more. This should be a must get at the LCS this week and you should definitely consider adding this series to your Pull List.

Lazarus Order #2 deepens the Order’s mythology while introducing ominous new questions about Uriel, the First Sickness, and the creatures hidden beneath its headquarters. Although the pacing is occasionally slow, Sloane M. Siegel’s intriguing world building and Juan Doe’s vivid neon-gothic artwork keep the mystery compelling. Let This One Be a Devil #3 turns the heat up on not only the hunt for the Devil, but also the turbulence within the Naughton Family. James Tynion IV and Steve Foxe do an awesome job of putting us front and center for the war of the Naughtons. They tug at our heart strings with the family drama. But they also find a way to consistently remind us that there may be a monster on the loose.

Let This One Be a Devil #4 brings us to the conclusion of the story of the Leeds Devil. James Tynion IV & Steve Foxe mix in some elements to throw the readers off the trail in this final issue. Taking some big swings and chances along the way. Some of these risks pay off and throw some good curveballs. However, overall, it feels as if they didnt stick the landing on the conclusion. The ending fell a little flat and left the reader more puzzled than satisfied.

The art is very appeasing and contemporary. It gives the story a grounded feel, well also making the characters feel relatable to their roles. The earthy colors set the vibe and feel of the story. The Shepherds design and reveal is awe inspiring.

The story is very inspirational and touches the reader right in the feels. Omar Morales does a fantastic job of showing that dreams come true even through trial and tribulations. The message of never giving up, no matter the setback is an awesome lesson for any younger reader. Even though this book has amazing inspiration, dont worry there is excitement and even some action.

Masterminds #5 is a damn near perfect ending to a phenomenal series. The finale, much like the rest of the series, is thrilling and unpredictable. Masters of the Universe #6 is a strong issue that gives Evil-Lyn a sharper spotlight while continuing to build the larger conflict across Eternia. With solid writing, energetic artwork, and a bigger threat still looming, this remains a compelling entry for longtime MOTU fans and a strong addition to the series.

Masters of the Universe: Genesis #1 does not disappoint with its origin premise and new revelations. The story unfolds just a bit without revealing its full hand in the first issue. Putting a book end on this review, I can honestly say although I had some problems with this issue, I don't regret giving it a read. The art and the Blade storyline were worth the read. Plus, it made me excited to see what the launch of Blade #1 will be.

Midnight X-Men #1 is an ambitious, visually striking debut that gives the X-Men a compelling gothic-horror makeover. Jonathan Hickman’s dense world-building can be confusing at first, but the intriguing character dynamics, large-scale conflict, and atmospheric artwork from Matteo Della Fonte and Arthur Hesli make this alternate reality worth exploring. It is a strong opening issue with enough mystery and momentum to bring readers back for the next issue.

The Missionary #2 is an insanely fun read. The adult humor mixed throughout the book is top tier. Ryan Stegman does a wonderful job of building this world and moving the main stories forward in this issue. At times the book gets a little jumpy, moving from plot to plot, but its never overly confusing.

Narco #1 sets the tone and pace for the series to come, by laying down some great groundwork. This is a unique take on a true crime/mystery/murder story that has a lot of promise. It definitely has my interest in the next issue and beyond. If you are looking for something different yet familiar grab a copy at the LCS this week.

Narco #2 does a good job of drawing the reader into this world and keeping them on the edge of their seat. The pacing is a little quick, which takes away some of the suspense that should have been built up. However, even with that detraction this is still a fun and mysterious whodunnit that most readers will enjoy. On top of the actual story, the horror movie inspired covers are also super cool and will be a welcome addition to any collector’s collection. Grab a copy at the LCS this week and give this story a shot, it should more than meet your expectations.

Narco #3 brings a great deal of suspense to the story, well also bringing back a great pace. The bookend of swerves makes the mystery of this whodunit really stand out. This is a series that is perfect for any mystery lover and is fitting for anyone who just likes a good story that keeps you on your toes. Grab a copy of the first three issues if you can, and enjoy the mystery ride you will find yourself on.

Narco #4 brings more desperation to Marcus’ plight well also shining light on who the killer is. This gives the reader a sense of the light at the end of the tunnel. However, there is still plenty of tunnel left which allows for even more shenanigans to occur before we get to the finish. This series has been a treat and has delivered on so many levels. This is another series that I hope you as a reader haven’t been sleeping on. If you need to catch up on the series, consider picking up some of the Hitchcock inspired variant covers as they are awesome looking.

Narco #5 gives the reader a fitting and exciting end to this series that had a lot of horror, heart, and entertainment. From the start of the series we knew we would get an epic showdown in the final issue. This issue lives up to that very ending and then some. This crime thriller had a little bit of everything. Some fun, some horror, some mystery, and an awesome friendship arc to boot.
