Welcome back to Woodbrook. After the thrilling conclusion of issue #1, it's finally time to rejoin Samantha Brown inside the cozy confines of small-town life. The years have passed, and she's slowed down a bit...but she'll still get her paws dirty to protect the life she's built for herself, no matter what it takes. As we're reintroduced to Samantha in the '90s, we'll also get a sinister peek into years long gone, filling in the gaps between her first kill and the first comic page.

This twisted (yet aesthetically comforting) tale continues with Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite Of Spring #2 , giving us a look into Sam's perspective. If you enjoyed the first installment, it'll be like catching up with old friends. If you hadn't read the first one, this is still a pretty good starting point. Either way, it's a good time. Horvath delivers beautifully detailed and visually compelling art throughout the issue. I love the visuals and how they capture the tone and mood of the story. Read Full Review

    AIPT - David Brooke

Rite of Spring #2 finds Patrick Horvath at his sharpest, balancing small-town detail, unnerving character work, and Sam's terrifying calm with a narrative that ties back perfectly to issue #1. It's a reminder that beneath the sleepy veneer of small-town America, horror thrives, and Sam is still its queen. Read Full Review

The second issue of this arc catches the reader up on whats been going on with Sam and the town of Woodbrook. Patrick Horvath does an excellent job of bringing the reader up to speed on the goings on in Woodbrook, well at the same time introducing some new wrinkles to the story. Horvaths introduction of WebLynx the internet service, is a great way to expand this world. My only detraction is there are a few parts of this issue that bog down a little with what appears to be filler about the town folk. But, even with that this issue is filled with some really good stuff. Read Full Review

A bit of a slower issue that I didn't feel was as good as the first one, but also one that I still really enjoyed. We finally dive more into what Samantha's been up to since the first series, after the first issue primarily focused on Monica. It was nice to see some of the effects of what happen in the aforementioned first series on the rest of Woodbrook, as well. Still very much invested.

It's another good issue that adds a layer to the new part of this story.
