Mar 19, 2026The Infernal Hulk #5 caps off a fantastic first half of the series. Phillip Kennedy Johnson continues to weave a terrifying, unsettling and emotional tale. Eldest continues to ascend in the rankings of all-time Hulk villains and Bruce Banner seems like he’s ready to accept his fate. This issue looked great from cover to cover and featured some fantastic artistic choices by Kevin Walker, Cam Smith and Matthew Wilson. Eldest’s fight with the One Above All was really cool to see. The parallel storylines of the Hulk, Eldest and Bruce Banner seem like they are going to converge once again and with some of the seeds that were planted in earlier issues, we are in for a wild back half of The Infernal Hulk. Mar 18, 2026Infernal Hulk #5 leans hard into spectacle while keeping its emotional core intact. The issue delivers massive, reality-shaking action through Kev Walker’s explosive visuals, but it also grounds the chaos in Bruce Banner’s detachment and dread. The contrast between cosmic violence and personal horror gives the issue weight, especially as the Avengers recognize they are outmatched. By the final pages, the story shifts from epic to deeply unsettling, reminding readers that the real battle may be happening inside Bruce as much as outside. Read Full Review

Mar 18, 2026The Infernal Hulk #5 does a great job of bridging the story together thus far. The threat of the Hulk is in full swing and even the bravest heroes must pause at fighting him. The Drama and horror do the most work in this issue and deliver on both genres. This story is steady and consistent which makes for a good read overall. Read Full Review

The issues we see how much of a threat this infernal hulk is, are definitely highlights for me. Honestly how the story juggles three different narratives are all equally incredible.

When Al Ewing ended Immortal Hulk with Hulk yelling at God, I was disappointed.
When PKJ had Hulk get into a fist fight with God, I was confused. This was dumb.
I'm going to go back and re-read a few issues, maybe I'm missing something, but this made no sense. This issue was not one of my favorites, and nudged me another step towards dropping the book. The art, by Kev Walker, was not hitting for me. The transitions from Nic Klein to Danny Earls or Kev Walker are too jarring, in my opinion. I'd rather have Travel Forman consistently than Nic klein intermittently. -

I've been a fan this series but this issue is a huge miss . What even was this? a battle with one above all on the moon? just awful stuff. this series is better than this. it all happens so quick its like I was missing pages. for the little that did even happen.

I dropped the prior series because I thought it was too drawn out.
The pace of this series is much better. Very much enjoying it.
The Banner and Betty part of it is key. -
