Fanlight Zone - Richard Coryell
May 27, 2026King Spawn #55 is a near perfect kick off to a new arc in the Spawn Universe. The backstory is revealed and enough of what is happening is held back to create intrigue. Even though the world feels hopeless, I have high hopes for where this series will go. Spawn #376 can’t come quick enough to get even more of this story. This is a perfect jump on issue, as well as an important one that you won’t want to miss. Grab a copy at the LCS and add King Spawn & Spawn to your Pull List ASAP, so you don’t get left out of this awesome event! Read Full Review

Not a bad start at all. The only ongoing Spawn title I've ever tried reading was the first three issues of Gunslinger Spawn, and I wasn't really into it. The only reason I'm here for this (and for the standard Spawn series) is because Rosenberg is writing it. Was apprehensively looking forward to this and...it was good. It wasn't great or anything, but definitely solid. I understand criticisms towards Nachlik's interiors, but I didn't think they were bad at all. Not quite what I was expecting from a Spawn title, but definitely not bad, in my opinion. That said, I feel like there's a good amount of potential here, and I'm interested enough to continue.
