The critics reviews on this are a bit of a head scratcher. Probably unhappy with heroes murdering people.

Geek Dad - Ray Goldfield
Apr 15, 2026I could quibble with the pace of this series, but it works to create a sense of tension as we build towards a much bigger conspiracy. Read Full Review

Fanlight Zone - Ken M.
Apr 15, 2026Kane’s attack on Slay’s forces pushes the vigilante into dark places in another stellar chapter. Rucka’s writing never lets up on the important stakes at hand. Dani & Hollingsworth are flawless in presenting the battle in Petalon’s streets. Since returning, this as been a non stop thrill-ride with each chapter! Read Full Review

AIPT - Tiffany leigh
Apr 15, 2026In this issue, Rucka's writing offers meticulous cinematic pacing, setting us up for a dark and dangerous showdown between Kate and Master Slay. Meanwhile, DaNi’s neo-noir and moody art is so perfectly suited to the ethos of this story -- the synergy between Rucka’s words and the tense-tactile soaked aesthetic gives this a wholly organic, gritty feel. Apr 20, 2026Batwoman #2 is a great example of going with the flow of the story. The first issue already did a lot of leg work in setting up the foundation. This second issue is all about showcasing why action led by Batwoman has a different feel. Read Full Review

Apr 15, 2026Two issues in and Batwoman already feels essential. Rucka and DaNi are building something special — electric, grounded and utterly unafraid to let Kate bleed. Read Full Review

Apr 17, 2026Batwoman #2 continues to tell the tale of Kate’s downward spiral into fear to great effect. The creative team ratchets up the tension without sacrificing the tone of the story they are telling. Read Full Review

Henchman-4-Hire - Sean Ian Mills
Apr 18, 2026I don’t feel like the artwork matches the story being told and that makes the comic a bit too loosey goosey for my tastes, but there’s still a strong story moving underneath. Read Full Review

Comic Book Clique - Frank Jarome
Apr 17, 2026Batwoman #2 is another good issue that falls short of being great due to a lack of insight into our main character, villains that I don't even know some of the names for, and art that is a little too sketchy and unclear. The story being told is overall very interesting, and I have faith that Rucka and company will bring it all together given time, but so far it's been tough to get too engaged in the book. I'm intrigued enough to stick around and see where things go, but if I don't get a little bit of clarity soon, that might not still be the case. Read Full Review

Apr 19, 2026The second issue of Batwoman is another case of strong visuals from Dani and Matt Hollingsworth, but below average writing from Greg Rucka. Read Full Review

Apr 15, 2026Batwoman #2 provides plenty of atmosphere, intensity, and dramatic impact. However, impact comes at the expense of a clear story and, in some cases, clear art. If you liked Greg Rucka’s previous work on the character, you will find more of the same here, but those unfamiliar with that work will likely tune out. Read Full Review

This is a step up from the first issue. Only issue is that it’s too short. I immediately wanted more.
