Pretty solid first issue here. It does a lot in one issue in order to set up the status quo going forward, but I also appreciate it for that reason. It's definitely fun and I think this might resonate more with people a little younger than myself, but, again, I had a good time with it. Nicuolo proves to be a really good choice for this book, as well. Interested to see where this book goes.

Fun start and true tone for a young Teen Titans team.

This was a great start that really fits the tone of a Doom Patrol book while not trying to be a cheap Morrison rip off which has plagued all the mediocre to bad Doom Patrol books since Gerrard Way's run. Poelgeest's writing and Henrichon's art are both great and feel genuine and authentic.

This could be a great issue in a series where there was actual plot progression to show Batman being a total badass when the odds are stacked against him. Yet this whole run has yet to resolve one plot point in over a year now, so taking a whole issue to have Batman fight a bunch of cops to get to Savage in the last panel is really disrespectful to the readers asking them to shell out $5 for no pr ogression at all. As a DC Infinite reader, I can deal with the slow pacing (while still being disappointed) but still find this disrespectful to loyal fans who buy each issue upon release.

On top of that, the whole concept of Batman (world's smartest detective) unnecessarily fighting a whole police squad throughout the building risking injury at the beginning of an epic crisis when he could have just went right to the roof where he clearly would have seen Savage preparing a giant blimp is just inexcusable.

All that griping aside, the art was fantastic with breakneck pacing that was fully captivating when shutting down my brain to enjoy.more

This a tough issue to rate. It’s part of a larger event, so if you aren’t reading the other issues, it’s easy to be lost. Basically Bats goes to police HQ to stop/arrest/capture Vandal Savage. He starts on the bottom floor and fights his way up. The fight mostly consists of fighting a cop called Big Boy. Of course Bruce gets beat bad before finally winning. They are surrounded by dozens of cops wh o don’t help Big Boy. When Bats wins they clear a path instead of swarming Bats.

Bats gets to top of building and Savage says Bats is under arrest. That’s the whole story. It could have been done in two pages. Bats brutes his way through the cops. He does not think his way through. He does not have a plan. He does not use any of his 432 sidekicks to assist him. Is it just me or is that dumb. Again, the problem seems to be that The Bat Family is huge, yet writers keep writing Bats as a loner who must do things alone because it’s cool and using help makes him weak. It also shows him being stupid.

I don’t like a stupid Batman. Writing smart is hard, but that’s why they get the big bucks. This being part of a larger event kills the momentum of regular plot devices, and that is slowing down stories that are already going very slow.

This was a fairly decent issue though not required reading for the Bad Seeds main plot. Great art but that "I see you" hug moment with the kid who stabbed Cass was so cringy it really took away from an otherwise good issue.

Beyond the odd concept, the dialogue was painful and I expect so much better from PKJ.

Great concept and lots of interesting elements presented but the next issue needs to give us more info on the characters for me to get excited for the series.

Classic get the gang back together heist story but done great with excellent characters and chemistry.
