If either Phillips or Garbett stepped up their work, this could become an intriguing comic, but so far, it’s just readable.

Destination Kill #2
WELCOME TO LONDON. THE YEAR IS 2125. GET DOWN AND DUCK FOR COVER! There’s chaos in the streets following an attack on megacorp Overcon’s newest innova...
Joe Palmer has a unique style that most people probably hate, but I can’t get enough of his weird and unusual line work. Destination Kill is a true work of art that you don’t get to see that often in American comics anymore.
Destination Kill #1

In the footsteps of JUDGE DREDD, V FOR VENDETTA, and TANK GIRL, the first great milestone in 22nd-century science fiction is here! Horrible art.

Interesting story, mediocre art
Wolverine: Weapons Of Armageddon #1
ARMAGEDDON STRIKES THE MARVEL UNIVERSE! Superstar writer Chip Zdarsky and dynamic artist Luca Maresca kick off a game-changing new saga! When an old acquaintance drags Logan into the search for a new abducted mutant subject, the terrifying methods of the defunct Weapon X program are revealed to be alive and well. As Wolverine follows the scent of t...
I didn’t want to read this title anymore, but flipping through the book, the art looked pretty good and there seemed to be some character development for several members, especially Animalia and Ben, the latest additions to the team. So since I’m a sucker for character growth and the whole soap opera aspect of the X-Men, that most writers seem to have forgotten about, I thought I’d give it a chanc more
X-Men #31
The X-Men Science Team heads to the Rocky Mountains to investigate strange anomalies of physics while in pursuit of a Cerebro signal. But there are others who are interested as well, and the mutant they find is not the mutant they expect…
This wasn’t bad for a first chapter, although I’m having some ethical problems with the entitlement and self-righteousness displayed by the heroes in this book. Anyway, I’m glad Dave Colton is returning - I really enjoyed him in Captain America - and apparently missed his appearance in Wolverine: Weapons of Armageddon, a series I considered skippable, but looks like I shouldn’t have.
The art

Avengers: Armageddon #1
ARMAGEDDON HAS ARRIVED! Red Hulk's devastating tear across the globe must be stopped... but it will take a colossal gathering of Earth's Mightiest Heroes to do it! Calling in the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, Wolverine and more...but who will survive this super-powered cataclysm?! There will be a pre-Armageddon Marvel Universe and a post-Armageddon...
The story jumps from one weird plot point to the next, not all of them making sense. But the worst part of this book is the sketchy art. In the end, it’s just not an enjoyable read.
What If…?: Uncanny X-Men #1
WHAT IF...CYCLOPS HAD STAYED WITH MADELYNE PRYOR? Imagine a world where Madelyne Pryor, the Goblin Queen, had survived the Inferno. What would have happened if Cyclops had saved her soul? What would have happened if he and Maddie had raised their son, Nathan Summers? What would that world look like? And why would that be the most terrible thing to ...
Escape #7
The smash-hit series returns! Milton's daring plan comes to a head as he sabotages the Titan cannon from within, but escape means facing an army, a vengeful Colonel, and impossible odds. The explosive new arc begins here, and not everyone makes it out alive.
Batman 10 is a wild ride. What Jimenez is doing here is absolutely stunning and the writing complements the art perfectly.
Batman #10
The GCPD’s “Operation Peregine” struck a deep blow to the heart of the Bat-Family. But while Savage and his TUCOs celebrate their victory, Batman is about to set the record straight. He knows how to take a punch. He knows how to get back up. And he’s about to show Vandal Savage, the Minotaur, and anyone else who threatens Gotham City exactly what t...
Terrible art, forgettable history.
Fantastic Four #12
Aliens have invaded Earth and been rebuffed by the Fantastic Four many a time before, and finally, one of them got wise and invaded Earth where the FF couldn't defend it: They're attacking our world in the past, in ANCIENT ROME. Johnny and Reed are the only two who make it back in time before all of history is erased, but it's okay! As long as they...
The art is unacceptable.
Fantastic Four #12
Aliens have invaded Earth and been rebuffed by the Fantastic Four many a time before, and finally, one of them got wise and invaded Earth where the FF couldn't defend it: They're attacking our world in the past, in ANCIENT ROME. X-Men Of Apocalypse #4
THE KISS THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING! The shocking conclusion to X-Men of Apocalypse brings Gambit into the arms of Carol Danvers, aka MS. MARVEL!? What about ROGUE!? The issue you cannot miss!
No one who has eyes to see can honestly tell me that they think the art in this book is great. In fact, it’s so bad, I can’t even get myself to read this stuff. If this is the level of quality Marvel is at now, we’re truly fucked.
Storm: Earth's Mightiest Mutant #5
THE EVE OF BATTLE. The Cyclopes' hunger for dripping human flesh, the fishmen thirst for widows' sorrow and the wizards gather genocidal spells. But our protector, STORM, is nowhere to be found. She doesn't want to be found. For her heart aches and bleeds for a lost love.
Finally some answers. Do they make sense though? Not really. With more and more of the same horror-related threats, plus a step down in art quality since Marquez left, I think this was my last issue of Safe Space X-Men. Bye.
Uncanny X-Men #29
Haven House has a POWERFUL and UNEXPECTED set of houseguests, and the UNCANNY X-MEN are not feeling very HOSPITABLE! Meanwhile, the Outliers are STRANDED in a landscape they can't understand, under the watchful mentorship of one of the X-Men's MOST POWERFUL FOES! All this, plus a DEATH at Graymalkin Prison causes VIOLENT CHAOS for guards and inmate...
I don’t know if Andrea Milana has officially become a second regular artist on this book, but if his art continues to improve as much as in his last few issues, I’m fine with that. This one has some really great action layouts that he probably wouldn’t have been able to pull off just a few months ago. If you want to see a future great artist in the making, read G.I. Joe!
G.I. Joe #22
HUNT FOR ENERGON! After the stunning conclusion to DREADNOK WAR, the Joes and Cobra are in a race to find Energon across the world. But the man known as Crystal Ball has horrifying plans for them all...
I skipped part 1 and 2, but had to check out part 3 because Mikel Janin is back on art - and, boy, this is probably the best issue I've read in this run yet! The art is fantastic, the story feels engaged and the action is just breathtaking. I just hope the solution of the mystery isn't what I think it is.
Detective Comics #1109
Green Arrow has been thrown from a skyscraper and is tumbling toward the pavement at terminal velocity. His would-be killer: an enigmatic teenage girl with connections to a secretive Gotham family—and a connection to Batman, Green Arrow, and Black Canary’s past. Will Gotham’s new Dynamic Trio be able to track down this strange, homicidal girl known...
Usually I hate it when comics change artists all the time, but in case of this series, the art got better with each issue. Farid Karami’s pages are a sight for sore eyes. I’d say, give him a flagship book, but I think he already drew a few issues of the last Avengers run, which - despite the art - was a huge disappointment. I guess Marvel doesn’t have flagship titles anymore, since either the writ more
Wonder Man #3
FOR THE LOVE OF WONDER MAN! PATSY WALKER, the ever-elegant HELLCAT, is chasing down the murderer of a famed Hollywood agent. Was she looking for love? No. Has she found it? Ask Simon Williams… Unless he's the murderer, that wouldn't end well for either of them!
Hyde Street #12
THE BUTCHER, Part 2. The Butcher of Hyde Street has escaped—and the tremors are felt in every shadowed corner of the neighborhood. As fear grips the Residents, one question hangs in the air: who will be his next victim?
A satisfying conclusion to a mediocre comic. Trujillo certainly doesn’t waste the great potential of connecting these two great pop culture mythologies, but unfortunately it gets a bit lost in the boring, average art.
Planet Of The Apes Vs. Fantastic Four #4
A showdown for the ages! It's ape vs. ape vs. the Fantastic Four vs. Doctor Doom! And even if the FF manage to turn the tide, is there any escape from the Planet of the Apes? Marvel's first crossover with the Planet of the Apes comes to a stunning and startling conclusion!
