May 06, 2024Roman playwright Terentius once said, "I am a human being, and thus nothing human is alien to me." This series proves anthropomorphizing its characters isn't enough to not see connections to these characters. That's largely due to strong character acting and a deep understanding of how a killer can be a person who is also unfeeling and capable of terrible things. Mostly predictable in the general way it ended, but it was fantastically executed. The art style isn't my typical preference but it was just so clean and well done (and contrasting with the subject material) so I really enjoyed it. The series reminded me a little of Berenstain Bears meets Dexter, a mix so odd but pulled off so well here. Very cool series with a perfect ending.

Look lets just say what everyone is thinking. That was a pretty #$%^ED up ending. Got to be reminded that even though we might route for the protagonist, she isnt good. Just cheering for one villain over another. At least the town is safe... for now.

Yup. Horvath nailed the ending, as I hoped he would. Awesome stuff here, as I loved every single page of this. Samantha getting the better of Nigel by just being smarter and better at this than him was absolutely fantastic and I was just eating it up. Truly, truly, truly great series here. Need to see what else Horvath has cooking up in that brain of his, because I'd very much like more from him.

The ending felt a little anticlimatic for me but overall I liked a lot this book.
The contrast between the art style and the subject material is one of the most fun creative decisions I've seen in a long time.
High quality in all regards. Hope to see the artist in more books soon. -
