May 29, 2026In the end, Planet of the Apes versus Fantastic Four #4 is the definition of a “popcorn” book— a fun time that doesn’t delve too deeply into any of the heavier and more interesting issues raised over the course of the miniseries. Fans of both properties will enjoy themselves within these pages, but they’ll likely come away wishing the series had aimed a little higher. Read Full Review

Plot
Cornelius, Zira, and Doctor Zaius restore Reed, Sue, and Ben's powers, while Johnny must wait to capture General Ursus to regain his own.
Ursus seizes control of the city using his fire powers and the weapons given to him by Red Ghost and Doctor Doom, but the rebellion fails when Red Ghost's apes join Doctor Zaius. Red Ghost escapes, but his mind-disrupting device remains in Zaius's hands.
Ursus falls into the trap, and Johnny regains his powers. Zaius erases Ursus's memories and his own to erase the true potential of humanity. The Fantastic Four return to our world. Doctor Doom was actually a Doombot, which Ben destroys.
This ending ends up being somewhat predictable and expected, with an interesting epi more+ Like • Comment -

A satisfying conclusion to a mediocre comic. Trujillo certainly doesn’t waste the great potential of connecting these two great pop culture mythologies, but unfortunately it gets a bit lost in the boring, average art.
