Surprise surprise, I loved an issue of this Iron Man run. At only three issues so far this story has me so deeply invested that I cannot wait to see what happens next. This is Iron Man in all his perfectly armored glory! Read Full Review

Iron Man #3 keeps the momentum strong in a relaunch that already feels confident and fully realized. The issue moves effortlessly between explosive action and intimate character moments, giving Tony Stark room to feel human while the larger mystery deepens around him. Carnero’s artwork elevates every scene, capturing both spectacle and nuance in equal measure. With a bold final twist and multiple threads in motion, this series feels locked in and only getting more exciting. Read Full Review

Tony Stark gets some answers for recent events, but at what cost? Williamson’s writing takes Shellhead across a wide range of emotions. Carnero & Woodard deliver on big action and larger drama with the visuals. This is the Iron Man series fans have been waiting for! Read Full Review

Iron Man #3 is practically perfectly paced and offers a masterful blend of action, intrigue, and character work that feels like we’re in the midst of what hopefully will go down as a modern classic. The theme of the issue is all about creation and Joshua Williamson, Carmen Carnero, and Nolan Woodard have certainly created a super entry in one of Marvel’s most enduring and beloved heroes. With Iron Man #3 Joshua Williamson and Carmen Carnero solidify this series as one we can expect to consistently deliver a quality read. Williamson and Carnero get that done by showing us how for all his genius Tony Stark is stretching himself thin. Read Full Review

    KPB Comics - Stan West

    Mar 31, 2026

Iron Man #3 is chaos wrapped in a comic. Williamson leans into Silver Age silliness, while Carnero captures the action brilliantly and Woodard and Caramagna use their talents to enhance each panel. Messy pacing remains, but we’re in the middle of an arc. Tony has to use every ounce of his genius to get out of this one. Read Full Review

    Comic Watch - Henry Davis

Iron Man #3 continues to nail its balancing act between the heart of Tony Stark and the espionage of A.I.M. with great humor and drama alike, its noticeably lighter take allowing the team to slowly build towards greater things whilst maintaining focus on its most immediate plots. Weird Science Marvel Comics - mrgabehernandez

    Mar 25, 2026

Iron Man #3 gives you sleek action, sharp visual storytelling, and a couple of genuinely charming character beats, so the pluses leans hard on Carnero and Woodard’s kinetic shadows, expressive faces, and the brief glimpse of Tony as a person instead of a franchise mascot. On the flip side, the minuses are stacked with an undercooked trauma experiment concept, strangely distant stakes for the kidnapped geniuses, and a Madame Masque who talks like a grand idea but feels like a placeholder villain, all of which makes this read like empty-souled post-Phase 3 MCU fluff trying to sound profound without doing the work. Plot
Madame Masque and Fixer analyze the behavior of all the Tony Stark Award finalists, but the strangest is Adam Ware, the winner. He just sits there thinking, using the technology left to him to communicate with the other participants and help calm them down. He plays the role of a professor and communications expert. Masque begins to torture him to see if he'll change his strategy.

Tony helps M.O.D.O.K. counter A.I.M.'s attack and suddenly receives help from Citizen V, the Thunderbolt who was once Baron Zemo, but is now someone else. M.O.D.O.K. explains to Iron Man that there's an internal power struggle within A.I.M., which is why Masque is conducting experiments, and that after Doctor Doom's fall, the community of evil sc more

This is really not working for me. We have MODOK being a pansy, and the introduction of a new wild card. This story just seems to be meandering. After three issues, there should be a bit more of a direction, which means this is going to be a 12 to 14-issue story. I don't think I'm on board for that.

    Astonishingly Awful

    Mar 25, 2026

Maybe this comic is perfectly fine, and the only reason I’m not that excited about it is because I’m an old fart who misses the way comics used to feel and look back in the 80s. Or maybe it’s objectively mediocre. I can’t tell the difference anymore.
