Jul 27, 2026This issue doesn’t feature the DEO’s mysterious new magical enforcer, leaving that plot hanging a little longer, but it’s a a great little done-in-one that shows us how Zatanna is operating in her new role. It’s more like we’ve been invited along for one of her shows, except that this time the show is about the magical structure of the universe. Read Full Review

Jul 25, 2026Zatanna #4 is an interlude issue that gives us plenty of insight into the title of Prime Magus and what it means for our heroine going forward, while still giving our dose of the expected magical craziness. Even with a fill-in artist instead of Jamal Campbell, it’s easy to tell why he just won an Eisner. Just as Zatanna herself continues to learn more about what her new role means for her, I think we can say the same about Campbell on his creative journey. Read Full Review

the weakest story so far, but that's kind of understandable considering it's more of a side gig than anything else before the next headliner. Love the idea of it, but think we could have spent a biiit more time on each story/made each one a bit more impactful. As it was, it felt a little rushed for my tastes. Nonetheless, the art is beautiful and I appreciate the dive into the nature of Magic itself. Excited for the next stop on the tour!
