Sep 23, 2026Green Lantern #39 is a fun conclusion to this strange little food fight, but the Kyle Rayner/Major Force confrontation is the real meal of the issue. Adams continues to show that Kyle’s history matters, and seeing him confront Major Force with a little more maturity gives their rivalry a fresh dimension. The food comedy may be a bit much at times, but the character work, art, Jade’s continued presence, and setup for “First Light” leave me excited for what comes next. Read Full Review

Sep 27, 2026Green Lantern #39 is probably the strongest issue of the title since this Kyle Rayner run started, even if the "Food Fight" story is nothing special. It gives Kyle the most to do in terms of characterization and showing maturity that we've seen in some time, and it allows him to finally get his hands on Major Force without any outside interference. As someone who's been a fan of Kyle from the very beginning, that confrontation was very cathartic—I'm excited to see where my favorite GL goes next, now that he's free from the shackles of his past.
