That was so beautifully written, which is not a surprise considering most of Tom King's work in my eyes. He writes the Superman family of characters in such a timeless and compelling way that is rarely done but when it happens, it hits hard. In addition, Chris Burnham's distinct pencils really elevate the script. I hope this duo work together again in the future. My favourite single issue of the year thus far from an event I'm otherwise not reading.

LOLLLLLL A referendum on everything Bendis and Taylor have done to Jon Kent.
Also proof how great a Modern Age story with Silver Age sensibilities can be.
Also, also proof that Tom King can still tell an entertaining story. Guy really is all sugar or all shit. -

Bit high on the teen angst side but the art and the story more than make up for it.
I love how King wasn't subtle about hating Jon's age up which to this day remains to be one of the worst decisions DC has ever made. -

If I had a nickel every time Tom King wrote an event tie-in that ends up becoming the best part of said event, I'd have a couple of nickels.

I think people are too angry about John's characterization. Though wasn't a fan of the art and the couple of dialogues here and there.

Burnham artwork is amazing but even that cant save the story.
If you already dislike King´s writting this book isn't gonna change your mind about him and if you like any of the characters who apear in this book you'll probably end up hating King anyway. After this and Mister Miracle im wondering if the guy has some personal issues with Orion.
Didnt read the Aquaman backup so no opinion about it. -

I didn't really care for this one. I think whenever Tom King goes for the more saccharine approach, he loses me. Perhaps it's because I have no feelings, but I'm leaning towards it just being because he leaves it open for the reader to impart their own feelings into the work, and his way of inviting the reader to do that does not pull me in the way it does others.

How could someone miss the characters so much. Literally all three characters are completely wrong. This isn't even injustice or something like that (an else world) this is supposed to be what would have happened instead of Bendis ageing him outside world. This is absolute character assignation. DC stop giving Tom King to write these characters, he does NOT know how these characters work he just like to write some fan fiction version of characters with angst stories. He did the same with Batman and other related characters.
