Okay, so... No one wants to tell us what happened between Ultimate Power and previous unfinished Squadron volume. Great. But there's also a 5 years time skip. Great. But somehow, it looks like we missed nothing and all the interesting things for some reason happen just now, all at once. Great again. So, Emil and Ultimate Fury are feeling fine, it seems. Great as well! Turns out there's some Spider -Man, F4 and Captain America rip-offs instead of DC characters from the original series. Ugh... As an opening issue it's... okay? But not great at all. Maybe it gets better later.

UPD, just noticed IGN - Dan Phillips review here and I absolutely agree with it. Although, the rating is too harsh, the comic isn't really bad. But yeah, it looks like the volume wasn't really needed at all if they do it like this.more

The percentage of recycled artwork throughout the whole series is insane... I really hate how it's written. And man, the Africa's Protectors are such a dumb idea... I mean, how many countries are there in Africa? And they told Americans to stay away, because Africa already has its protectors. And now they say that they weren't protecting the people from the genocide, because "how can we protect an entire country?"... Man, this is dumb as hell. Yeah, if superpowered dudes were killing every single Janjaweed arriving, they would keep coming and coming. They wouldn't stop to think that maybe it's just a pointless suicide. The Africa's Protectors literally think: "We can't protect them all, so we better just mind our own business and also stop everyone else who are trying to protect anyone. Let the little girls be raped and men killed uncontrollably". And the funny thing - Hyperion and Nighthawk agree, even though Nighthawk stayed in Africa, he still agreed. The whole story was pretty much for nothing. Ugh, I don't know, of course Marc Guggenheim just wanted to attract attention to that conflict in real life (which, by the way, seemingly ended only in 2020!), but outside of that, the story is exactly as pointless as JMS' unfinished Squadron Supreme volume. At least that one was made better...more

Oh yeah, those famous Africa's protectors that wanted Americans to mind their own business, but can't actually stop a local genocide on their protected land. I thought the idea wasn't really good back in JMS run already, but here it's even more absurd. But anyway, the comic itself isn't that bad. It just doesn't really move anywhere.

The sob afterword is great, but so far the comic itself isn't interesting enough.

It's a very rushed adaptation of original F4 52 and 53 and it was like okay, readable, but that's it. It's not like the writer really tried to make the story any more interesting, that was necessary.

Surprisingly an original story and not an adaptation. It's okay. Nothing's really special, I'd liked it more if I was 6, but anyway, I hope the kids back then liked it.

This is another Marvel Two-in-one adaptation. Not a bad one.

An okay story for kids, even though a bit chaotic and not really elaborated. It's a modern adaptation of the old Marvel Two-In-One #6, by the way. Never read the original story and I hope it was better.

I never knew the original author of Dexter made some original stories for Marvel. I heard about the show and maybe will watch it one day, but since this comic got an official number in the Marvel multiverse, I wanted to check it out. And uh... So far it feels like Jeff Lindsay used something he never really cared about for this comic. I don't know, maybe the book is overrated and it's not really g reat either, but so far the first issue of this comic isn't catchy neither in terms of writing, nor visually. Maybe it gets better later, but for now it's kinda mid.more
