You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff

Honestly...this issue makes Scott Snyder look like a total amateur next to Campbell. His DC K.O. event had the potential to be incredibly powerful as heroes battled villains in a big and brutally intense multi-issue brawl. With no real story worth speaking of, the intensity of the fighting and the action could have been ratcheted-up all the way. Instead it was a big muddle. In a single issue of Supergirl, Campbell is able to show sheer intensity and brutality in a single combat than tumbles through much of the length of a single issue. DC K.O. would have been much better than it was if it had been able to capture even a fraction of what Campbell manages in the 11th Supergirl. Read Full Review

The end of this issue is surprisingly brutal, unlike anything I’ve ever seen in a Supergirl comic, and it jacks up the tension to a perfect level for the cliffhanger. Read Full Review

Supergirl #11 was a great opener to this new arc. Honestly, my personal disappointment with the lack of Conner this issue is the only complaint I have for the issue. This is definitely one of the better issues this series has produced and I can’t wait to see how it all plays out. Read Full Review

The Fandom Post - Chris Beveridge

We’ve had some solid artists on the book recently, but I’m glad Campbell is back on the design work for this as I really enjoy their take on Kandor and the “retro” 60s vibe of it all. It’s what the book has been anchored in proper since the start and it’s a fun and enjoyable angle to work compared to how the character has been done for some time. The story is straightforward and I like that we get to see Kara just being blunt and trying to help, rather than always in the “motherly” way a lot of women in comics tend to be portrayed in dealing with situations. The use of Lesla is interesting, and Zora is definitely a lot of fun to see as she stakes out her territory. Definitely curious to see where it goes and if it actually uses Superboy in a meaningful way. Read Full Review

As I said, I get we need conflict. We need a villain's threats to feel real. And we get that emphatically here. But can I please see a big Supergirl win?? Please? Don't get me wrong. I am liking this book. I love the art. But I need a win! Read Full Review

I have the same relationship with this issue as I have with Blood and Honey. It's a possible take on its title, I just don't know if it's necessary. Winnie the Pooh works as it is. It has a niche. So does Supergirl. It doesn't need a big pile of blood.

I think Sophie is extremely talented and when her stories align with me I love them. This is just one of the times I disagree with the path.

I'm not saying that Supergirl can't be badass or let go. But compare this to COIE #7, Superman/Batman Apocalypse or Supergirl vs Red Tornado in the CW show. None of them makes it overly gory, yet they make her even more badass than this.

There is definitely a crowd that will love this. For me it just feels like one of those mom more
