The Graphic Library - Sara Campbell
Sep 28, 2020This volume won an Eisner in 2020 for Best Humor Publication, and I can see why. There are several laugh-out-loud moments as the Immortal Dragon applies his skills to housework. Even though the Yakuza seem to know where he is, his reputation protects him and ensures that no one has any real power to bring him back into gang life. We don't see much of the wife in this volume, but she's also a fun character, and their relationship is cute and somehow works. It isn't clear yet if she knows what his former lifestyle was, but if she does, she seems to not care one bit about his gloominess and odd behavior. The art style is a little reminiscent of Junji Ito or Yusuke Murata but with more detailed facial features and expressions. Read Full Review
