'Spider-Punk: Arms Race' is the encore you've been craving. It's packed to bursting with wild action, great character work, and good old-fashioned P.M.A. Read Full Review

If you're finding yourself wanting more Hobie Brown following last year's Across the Spider-Verse movie, this is a pretty good place to start. Read Full Review

While Cody Ziglars youthful dialogue can lean a bit forced, the narration and immediately apparent individuality in character personalities are a treat. Justin Masons art features plenty of fluid movement in action sequences. The large and splashy panels on some pages really work to grab a readers attention. With gritty coloring from Morry Hollowell, this post-disaster world is fully recognized. Travis Lanham also throws in some talented lettering. Read Full Review

A pretty fun but formulaic team-up book that could just use more Spider-Punk. Read Full Review

Tis decent, I miss the artist from the last run but Ziglar has got a better handle on his storytelling strengths.
Hope the book continues on an upward trajectory!

I found the dialogue and the plot to be riddled with clichés, but I recognize that that's subjective. I'm not young enough or punk enough for this comic, and I know it.

But I contend that the glacially slow pace is an OBJECTIVE fault that will hinder the reading experience of even the youngest, crustiest fan.

Also, the B strip is one of those accidents where an author introduces characters or team-ups that are exponentially more interesting than their main protagonists. I'd much rather read the adventures of Mattea and Kamala than those of Hobie (at least based on performance so far).
