Jun 26, 2022Overall, Miles Morales & Moon Girl #1 is a perfect issue. It shows why Moon girl and Devil Dinosaur shouldn't be an overlooked and underrated comic. The story by Mashigo is pure joy. The art by the creative team is excellent. Altogether, a story which thrives on its eccentricities. Read Full Review

Jun 20, 2022Don't let the title fool you, Miles Morales and Moon Girl #1 is all about Moon Girl and how awesome she is in this story. Mashigo clearly understands this character and fundamentally nails her personality. The dialogue can feel less than genuine or real at times, but if you can get past that it's a super fun book that kiddos will love. Read Full Review

But Why Tho? - Collier "CJ" Jennings
Jun 20, 2022Miles Morales & Moon Girl #1is a charming if rather unorthodox team-up between the title characters as they search for Devil Dinosaur. I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you want a superhero story that's more low-stakes, or want to learn more about Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. It's also a great starting point for younger readers and will continue with a one-shot that sees Moon Girl joining forces with the Avengers. Read Full Review

Jun 22, 2022This is such a fun book! I adore Moon Girl and DD, I think she is a strong character that needs the right pen behind her, and I want to see more of Mohale Mashigo write Moon Girl. I enjoy team-up books when the mood is right. And if the mood is Moon Girl and Miles Morales, the mood is always right. Read Full Review

Jun 22, 2022Overall this issue has a unique hook to keep reading but this story seems to be almost too similar to the recent all-new "Clone Saga" storyline that Miles was at the center of. Read Full Review

Jun 23, 2022The team-up is pretty brief and most of the story focuses on Moon Girl, but it's an interesting beginning to a series of one shots, albeit one aimed at readers younger than me. Read Full Review

Comics characters failing to use contractions in their dialogue is a bugaboo of mine. So, *good lord*, I just found the bottom of the barrel on that score. I don't think I'd need 2 hands to count the total number of contractions in this issue.
I like the art and I think the premise of the plot is sound. But the stilted dialogue (some of it would be clumsy even with contractions) ruins the pace and characterization for me. It's a shame because this issue features a lot of characters who *should* be terrific wise crackers. -
