Smartphones rule our lives. In addition to providing news, weather, and sports, they are our music and entertainment portals, connect us with others, and tempt us to do things we might not otherwise attempt. In Jackpot & Black Cat #4, Paul pits his technical expertise against the avaricious Amelia and aids Mary Jane and Felicia by finding someone who resists the almighty allure of smartphones. I think this was a perfect way to end the Jackpot & Black Cat comic run. The way Black Cat showed her loyalty to Jackpot in the end was handled really well. I hope to see Jackpot and Black Cat work together again because this was so much fun to read. The loyalty and love between the best friends was portrayed excellently. Hats off the to the creative team for this run! Read Full Review

This issue delivers a perfectly workable resolution to the plot, and the art is shiny and well-polished (still a little more male-gaze-y than I like, though). But the script has a perverse talent for delivering a clunker of a line or a questionable plot development every time I start to enjoy myself.

Also, there's a plot hole that bugged me: Bandwidth is shepherded out of the story mid-fight, in the custody of Paul. It would be so easy to engineer an escape and a foreboding revenge vow for her, I'm honestly shocked the author didn't go for it. Granted, she wasn't the most thrilling villain I've ever seen, but with a new scheme (and especially a new tailor) she might have potential.

What a miserable wet fart waste of trees this was. Absolutely shameful this saw print.
