The storytelling still holds to a thoroughly retro tone, in both words and art, but the work is fraying around the edges a little. Gaps begin to show between the different art teams, and the prose becomes hesitant.

I'm still rating this as a good comic because one of the forces eroding the storytelling is that the author is diving into challenging, complicated ideas. This is getting a lot more philosophical than I expected from a sideshow event miniseries. Even if I don't think it's entirely successful, I admire the effort.
