  This issue gives exactly what Batman and Superman fans want: the iconic duo working together against impossible odds. Mark Waid balances psychological tension with lighthearted rivalry, though the tonal shifts between the two stories feel abrupt. Dan Mora’s artwork is breathtaking throughout, elevated by Tamra Bonvillain’s atmospheric colors and Steve Wands’ crisp lettering. While not a seamless single narrative, the issue succeeds as a character-driven showcase of partnership, trust, and teamwork. For longtime readers and newcomers alike, it’s a worthy fiftieth issue!
