Jul 09, 2025Planet Death #1 is an entertaining comic that knows exactly what it is. It's loud sci-fi action and doesn't deviate much from that. It's all about the chaos and a mission with large explosions, lots of action, and a rock and roll attitude about it all. The bodies pile up, the death count is high. It's everything you'd want and expect from this sort of series. Read Full Review

Not much plot progression here, but if the purpose of this #1 was to set the tone and vibe of the series then mission accomplished. Great art, the writing did its job, and I enjoyed the ride. Every issue won't be able to be like this, but as an introduction to the world it was a great first issue. Very cinematic.

There was nothing to this issue. Especially for a premiere issue. There's no story here. The main character is a trope. And if they said "Destroy the Weapon. Return Home" one more time, I was going to toss the book. It did not hook me and I won't be continuing despite the good artwork.
